Article Reliability and Validity of the Turkish Version of the Chelsea Critical Care Physical Assessment Tool (CPAx-TR)(Turkish Society Intensive Care, 2025) Koyuturk, Gamze; Parlak, Hakan; Baydilli, Kursat Nuri; Uyaroglu, Mehmet Burak; Pehlivan, EsraObjective: Assessing physical function in Intensive Care Unit(ICU) patients is essential for clinical decision-making. The Chelsea Critical Care Physical Assessment Tool(CPAx) is a validated instrument developed to evaluate functional status. This study aimed to cross culturally adapt the CPAx into Turkish and examine its validity and reliability. Materials and Methods: The tool was translated into Turkish using forward-backward translation and administered to 60 ICU patients. For the reliability analysis, internal consistency was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The construct validity of the CPAx was tested by factor analysis. The criterion validity was performed using the correlation between the CPAx and the Physical Function ICU Test (PFIT). Results: The internal consistency of the tool was found to be high and Cronbach's alpha value was calculated as 0.960. All item-total score correlations were above 0.30. Exploratory Factor Analysis revealed that all items were grouped into a single factor. In Confirmatory Factor Analysis, the model showed good fit (CMIN/ df=1.207;CFI=0.993;NFI=0.959;GFI=0.907; RMSEA=0.059). Furthermore, the correlation analysis with P-FIT revealed a strong positive relationship (r=0.892; p<0.001). Conclusion: It has been determined that the CPAx-TR shows acceptable levels of validity and reliability in evaluating functionality in ICU patients.Article A New Measurement Tool for School Readiness with Developmental, Learning, and Functional Outcomes: A Comprehensive School Readiness Assessment Scale (COSRAS)(Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2026) Aydoner Bektas, Selen; Bumin, Gonca; Karahan, SevilayThis study aimed to develop the Comprehensive School Readiness Assessment Scale (COSRAS), a multidimensional instrument designed to evaluate school readiness in children aged 57-72 months. Scale development followed DeVellis's framework. An initial item pool of 216 items was generated based on developmental, learning-related, and functional school readiness constructs and subsequently refined through expert review to 182 items. The finalized scale was completed by teachers of 1813 children, and test-retest reliability data were obtained from 386 teachers. Content validity indices were high, ranging from 0.892 to 1.000. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses supported the proposed eight-factor structure, demonstrating excellent model fit (CFI = 0.999; RMSEA = 0.000-0.009). Convergent validity with the Primary School Readiness Scale was strong (r = 0.665-0.695). The internal consistency of the scale was excellent across all domains (alpha = 0.916-0.969), and test-retest reliability was high (ICC > 0.990). COSRAS demonstrates strong psychometric properties and provides a comprehensive assessment of school readiness by integrating developmental competencies, learning-related skills, and functional performance. The scale enables early identification of children who may be at risk for neurodevelopmental or learning-related challenges before school entry. COSRAS may assist educators and allied professionals in early childhood and school-based settings by offering domain-specific profiles that inform instructional planning, individualized supports, and early intervention strategies.Article Measuring Narcissism in Cyberspace: Psychometric Evaluation of the Turkish Online Narcissism Personality Inventory (ONPI)(Istanbul Univ, Methodology & Sociology Research Center, 2025) Aytac, Sevinc Serpil; Bilir, Kadriye Burcu Ongen; Aydin, Gulden Cetin; Yuzaki, EnginThe widespread use of digital technologies and the increasing prevalence of internet usage in a globalized world have significantly influenced individuals' personality traits. In particular, the restriction of face-to-face interactions during global pandemics has led individuals to maintain their lives in digital environments. These developments have made it increasingly important to investigate the relationship between internet use and personality characteristics. This study aims to adapt the Online Narcissistic Personality Inventory (ONPI), developed by Chou and Farn (2015) based on the 40-item Narcissistic Personality Inventory by Raskin and Terry (1988), into Turkish and to examine its psychometric properties. The study sample consists of 397 individuals from diverse age groups and socio-demographic backgrounds. Data was analyzed using SPSS 30 and AMOS 30 software. According to the results of the exploratory factor analysis, the item factor loadings ranged from 0.466 to 0.812, and the total variance explained by the scale was found to be 58.36%. Confirmatory factor analysis results (Chi-square/df:2.584; RMSEA:0.063; NFI: 0.84; IFI: 0.90; TLI: 0.87; CFI: 0.90; GFI: 0.90) indicated that the scale exhibits a five-factor structure with 27 items. The internal consistency of the scale was high, with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.93. Additionally, the item total correlations ranged between 0.326 and 0.700. The findings demonstrate that the Turkish adaptation of the Online Narcissistic Personality Inventory is a valid and reliable measurement tool.Article Turkish Translation and Cross-Cultural Adaptation of the Pelvic Floor Dysfunction-SENTINEL Screening Tool: A Methodological Study(Springer London Ltd, 2025) Celenay, Seyda Toprak; Dusgun, Elif Sena; Arslan, Mesut; Kaya, Derya OzerIntroduction and Hypothesis To translate and perform cultural adaptation of the Pelvic Floor Dysfunction-SENTINEL (PFD-SENTINEL) screening tool into Turkish and to establish its reliability and validity for female athletes. Methods The study included 200 female athletes (mean age 22 +/- 4 years). The translation of the PFD-SENTINEL, which comprised the symptoms related to PFD and item sections related to general risk factors and sports-related risk factors, was performed in accordance with international recommendations. The severity of PFD symptoms was assessed with the Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-20 (PFDI-20). Psychometric analyses consisted of assessing the following: internal consistency reliability using the Kuder-Richardson-20 (KR-20) coefficient, construct validity using confirmatory factor analysis, and criterion validity. Results The reliability was acceptable for the PFD-SENTINEL items assessed using the KR-20, at 0.581, indicating moderate internal consistency. All fit indices except standardized root mean square residual indicated a perfect fit for the final models. Criterion validity was supported by positive correlations between the PFD-SENTINEL symptom score and the PFDI-20 score (r = 0.724, p < 0.001) and between the PFD-SENTINEL item score and the PFIQ-20 scores (r = 0.334; p < 0.001). Conclusions The Turkish version of the PFD-SENTINEL is a reliable and valid instrument to screen for PFD in female athletes.Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 2Validity, Reliability and Responsiveness of the Cognitive Exercise Therapy Approach-Biopsychosocial Questionnaire (bety-Bq) in Knee Osteoarthritis(Springer Heidelberg, 2025) Bulut, Zeynep Irem; Unal, Edibe; Oksuz, Sevim; Dogru, Atalay; Akyol, Ahmet; Yakut, YavuzPurposeThis study was planned to test whether the Cognitive Exercise Therapy Approach- Biopsychosocial Questionnaire (BETY-BQ) is an appropriate questionnaire in assessing the biopsychosocial status in KOA.MethodsFrequently used assessment tools, OA-specific scale The Western Ontario and McMaster Universities OA Index, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, and the Short Form-36 were utilized for the validity and responsiveness of BETY-BQ in individuals with KOA. The test-retest method, internal consistency analysis, and item analysis were used to test reliability. For the test-retest method, BETY-BQ was administered again to the same 30 individuals 1 week later. To assess the responsiveness of the BETY-BQ, individuals who underwent medical treatment were subjected to a second round of questionnaire administration after a 3-month interval.ResultsModerate to weak correlations between BETY-BQ and the other questionnaires ensued the divergent validity. According to the confirmatory factor analysis, all goodness-of-fit indices of BETY-BQ were acceptable (CMIN/df = 2.212; RMSEA = 0.080; SRMR = 0.08). Both Cronbach's alpha (0.900) and ICC value (0.941) showed that the BETY-BQ has excellent reliability in the KOA population. The Bland-Altman Plot showed high agreement as all differences between the first and second BETY-BQ were found between the 95% lower and upper limits. BETY-BQ demonstrated moderate responsiveness as the effect size and standardized mean response were 0.656 and 0.566, respectively.ConclusionA valid, reliable, responsive, multi-dimensional, and self-reported questionnaire for measuring biopsychosocial status in KOA was introduced to the use of healthcare professionals.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1Assessment of the Psychometric Properties of the Online Education Student Satisfaction Scale: a Methodological Study(Springer Publishing Company, 2024) Harmancı Seren, A.K.; Alan, H.; Türkmen, E.; Gungor, S.; Baykal, Ü.; Seren, Arzu Kader HarmanciBackground and Purpose: Assessing student satisfaction is essential in evaluating the quality of education. The number of valid and reliable tools that measure students’ satisfaction with online education is limited. This methodological study aimed to assess the psychometric properties of the online education student satisfaction scale. Methods: Eleven academicians from the nursing field provided expert opinions on content validity. Separate 25 students evaluated the language clarity of the draft scale. The study sample included 525 third- and fourth-year nursing students. Finally, a group of 30 nursing students different from the sample participated in the test–retest. The study created an item pool based on the recent literature. The researchers calculated the items’ content validity rates and the scale’s content validity index by taking the experts’ opinions. In addition, item–total score correlation analysis, exploratory factor analysis, discrimination analysis, stability test, and internal consistency analysis were performed. Results: An item with a low-correlation value was excluded from the scale. The correlation coefficients of the remaining items were between.536 and.811. In the second round of exploratory factor analysis, a five-factor structure emerged that explained 72.1% of the total variance. In addition, item discrimination, stability, and internal consistency test results ensured that the scale was valid and reliable. Conclusions: The online education student satisfaction scale with five subdimensions containing 28 items is a valid and reliable tool. We administered the AHEMD-IS to families of 65 premature or full-term Turkish infants and repeated this testing for 17 families after one-two weeks to establish test-retest reliability. We calculated the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) and Cronbach alpha coefficient to assess reliability, and we evaluated test validity using the Spearman's correlation coefficient and correlations with the Bayley-III motor development score. The Cronbach Alpha coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.846, and, for test-retest reliability, the ICC score was 0.830. The Turkish AHEMD-IS total score was moderately correlated with the Bayley-III fine motor development score (r = 0.469, p < 0.001), the Bayley-III gross motor development score (r = 0.533, p < 0.001), and the Bayley-III total motor development score (r = 0.526, p < 0.001). The Turkish version of the AHEMD-IS was found to be valid and reliable for children born prematurely or at full-term. The use of this questionnaire in Turkey will facilitate the creation of a home environment that will support motor development in children between 3-18 months of age.Article Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 7Psychometric Properties of the Gender Role Attitudes Scale Among Turkish Nursing Students and Factors Affecting Their Attitudes(Wiley, 2022) Celebi Cakiroglu, Oya; Harmanci Seren, Arzu KaderPurpose This study aimed to test the psychometric properties of the Gender Roles Attitudes Scale-Turkish Version (GRAS-TR) and evaluate nursing students' gender role attitudes. Design and Methods This was a psychometric and descriptive study. The sample consisted of 916 nursing students at two state universities in Turkey. Findings The content validity index of the scale was 0.89. The confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the fit indices were acceptable/good. Test-retest results and Cronbach alpha coefficient showed that the scale has high reliability. Nursing students scored above midlevel from GRAS-TR. Practice Implications GRAS-TR is a valid and reliable instrument. Nursing students who were women, had postgraduate education, few siblings, and were not born/raised in the eastern region had a more egalitarian attitude.Article Adaptation of Caregivers' Task Scale for Multiple Sclerosis To Turkish Society: Validity and Reliability Study(Dokuz Eylul Univ inst Health Sciences, 2022) Eroglu, Nermin; Tosun, Anil TekeogluObjectives: This study was planned and carried out methodologically to adapt the Caregiving Tasks in Multiple Sclerosis Scale (CTiMSS) to Turkish society. Methods: A methodological research. The study was conducted with caregivers of individuals with multiple sclerosis who presented to the neurology clinic of a university hospital between June 2019 and September 2020. The validity and reliability study of the Caregiving Tasks in Multiple Sclerosis Scale (CTiMSS) was performed with a total of 142 individuals, which is more than 5 times the number of items on the scale (24 items). Results: The validity of the CTiMSS was evaluated with language validity, construct validity (CFA), and content validity. The reliability coefficient of the internal consistency analysis (Cronbach's Alpha) was found to be extremely high (0.97). Item-total correlation of the scale was examined, and accordingly, no items were removed from the scale. The scale was administered to 30 patients at a two-week interval to analyze test-retest reliability and time-dependent invariance. Conclusion: The CTiMSS, which was adapted to Turkish society to evaluate the tasks of individuals providing care for individuals with multiple sclerosis, is a valid and reliable tool. We recommend that it should be administered to different groups and cultures to increase its evidence value. Considering the need for telehealth use, it is essential to determine the usability of tests performed as tele-assessment. This study aimed to examine the intra-rater reliability, validity, and feasibility of the tele-assessment version of core strength and endurance and functional capacity assessments in healthy individuals. Methods "Curl-up," "Modified Push-up," "Plank," and "Lateral Bridge" tests were used for core strength and endurance performance assessment, and "Timed Up and Go," "30 second Sit to Stand," and "Functional Reach Test" tests were used for functional capacity assessment in healthy individuals. Participants were evaluated first by tele-assessment, then one hour later on the same day, all assessments were repeated face-to-face procedures by the researchers thus the validity of the tele-assessment method was determined. All tests were applied as tele-assessment one week later to determine the intra-rater reliability of the tele-assessment method. The system usability scale was applied to evaluate the usability of our tele-assessment method. Results Eighty healthy people were enrolled. Intraclass correlation coefficients ranged between 0.91 and 0.97 for core performance tests and between 0.95 and 0.97 for functional tests. All tele-assessment versions of the core performance and functional tests were highly correlated with the face-to-face versions. Discussion Core strength-endurance and functional tests performed via tele-assessment were reliable, valid, and feasible for practically measuring the performance of healthy young adults. This study supports the tele-assessment versions of these tests.
