Article Relationship Between E-Health Literacy and Healthy Lifestyle Behaviours of Turkish Health Sciences Students(Emerald Publishing, 2025) Çakır, Furkan; Ozturk, Sergen; Gerçek, Hasan; Eryildiz, Ezgi; Kartal, Gokce; Polat, Mine Gulden; Fizyoterapi Ve Rehabilitasyon BölümüPurpose: E-health literacy (EHL) and healthy lifestyle behaviours (HLBs) are important for individuals receiving health education. Health professionals of the future should be conscious, e-health literate and develop HLBs. The aims of this study were to determine the EHL and HLBs of university students receiving health education and to examine the relationship between them. Design/methodology/approach: A total of 1,454 health sciences students, between the ages of 18–27, were included in the study. Participants' data were collected online via Google Forms. Participants' EHL levels were assessed with the E-Health Literacy Scale. Participants' HLB were assessed with the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviours Scale II. Findings: Positive weak correlation was found between EHL and HLB (p < 0.001, r = 0.329). EHL scores of bachelor’s degree students were higher than associate degree students (p = 0.004). HBL total score bachelor’s and associate degree student scores were similar (p = 0.714). Originality/value: This article addresses an important gap in understanding health sciences students' online reading habits about health and their relationship to HLB. Considering that there is a positive relationship between EHL and HLBs of students in the health departments of universities, increasing the EHL levels of students will help to increase HLBs. © 2025, Emerald Publishing Limited.Article Investigating Compliance With a Home Exercise Program in People With Multiple Sclerosis(AVES, 2025) Tekeoğlu Tosun, A.; Yilmaz, N.; Eryildiz, E.; Işiklar, Ç.; Hotaman Kekli̇Cek, H.; Fizyoterapi Ve Rehabilitasyon BölümüObjective: This study aims to evaluate the status of receiving home exercise programs and adherence among individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS), providing insights for clinical practice. Methods: Individuals diagnosed with MS, aged 18 and over, literate, and reached through the social media platforms of the MS Society of Türkiye, were included in the study. Individuals who did not fully complete the questions asked and/ or gave answers irrelevant to the topic, who reported comorbidities that may prevent participation in exercise along with MS, and those not meeting the specified age criteria were excluded from the study. Data were collected through an online questionnaire assessing MS patients’ sociodemographic and clinical characteristics and their engagement and adherence to home exercise programs. Results: A total of 217 people (n = 36) male, (n = 181) female, participated in the study. While the rate of having a prescribed home exercise program among all participants was 12.90%, this rate was 8.33% for men and 13.81% for women. When the compliance of the participants with home exercise programs was examined, all men stated they sometimes applied these programs. This rate was found to be 52% for women. Conclusion: The study demonstrated that a considerable proportion of individuals with MS did not engage with the prescribed home exercise programme. Furthermore, the adherence rates and frequency of exercise updates were found to be inadequate. Since the MS population is increasing steadily in Türkiye, it is vital to facilitate access to effective exercises for people with MS and to ensure lifelong compliance with these exercises. © 2025 AVES. The secondary aim was to investigate the physical parameters associated with BA and compare them between adults with obesity and non-obese adults. Method: Thirty-two adults with obesity and age and sex-matched 32 non-obese adults were included in the study. The outcome measures were the Body Awareness Questionnaire, International Physical Activity QuestionnaireShort Form and Functional Reach Test to detect BA, physical activity (PA), and dynamic balance level, respectively. Reaction time was assessed by the Nelson Foot Reaction Test and knee and trunk position error by inclinometer. Results: There was no significant difference between the obese and non-obese group in terms of BA score (p = 0.18) and PA level (p = 0.50). Lower dynamic balance was observed in the obese group (p = 0.003). Only the trunk position error was higher in the obese group in the measurement of joint position error (p = 0.010). There were no significant differences in the right and left feet reaction times between the groups (p = 0.68 and p = 0.23). There were no relationships between BA score and PA level (p = 0.93), dynamic balance (p = 0.82), joint position error (p = 0.14), and right (p = 0.33) and left (p = 0.25) reaction times. Conclusion: There was no significant difference in body awareness between the non-obese and the obese group and there was no association between body awareness and the physical parameters. However, adults with obesity had impaired balance and proprioception compared to non-obese ones.
