    Turkish Translation/Cultural Adaptation and Psychometric Analyses of the Affordances in the Home Environment for Motor Development-Infant Scale (ahemd-Is)

    In this study we translated the Affordances in the Home Environment for Motor Development-Infant Scale (AHEMD-IS) into Turkish, adapted the instrument culturally, examined its psychometric properties within a Turkish population, and identified its limitations. We administered the AHEMD-IS to families of 65 premature or full-term Turkish infants and repeated this testing for 17 families after one-two weeks to establish test-retest reliability. We calculated the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) and Cronbach alpha coefficient to assess reliability, and we evaluated test validity using the Spearman's correlation coefficient and correlations with the Bayley-III motor development score. The Cronbach Alpha coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.846, and, for test-retest reliability, the ICC score was 0.830. The Turkish AHEMD-IS total score was moderately correlated with the Bayley-III fine motor development score (r = 0.469, p < 0.001), the Bayley-III gross motor development score (r = 0.533, p < 0.001), and the Bayley-III total motor development score (r = 0.526, p < 0.001). The Turkish version of the AHEMD-IS was found to be valid and reliable for children born prematurely or at full-term. The use of this questionnaire in Turkey will facilitate the creation of a home environment that will support motor development in children between 3-18 months of age.

    Psychometric Properties of Turkish Version of the Behavioural Regulation in Exercise Questionnaire (breq-3)

    The aim of this study was to examine the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of Behavioural Regulation in Exercise Questionnaire-3 (BREQ- 3). Four hundred-one male and 299 female exercisers participated in this study. The Behavioural Regulation in Exercise Questionnaire-3 BREQ-3, Basic Psychological Needs in Exercise Scale and Goal Orientation in Exercise Measure were administered with personal information form to all participants. The psychometric proporties of the scale were investigated using confirmatory factor analysis, internal consistency, convergent and discriminant validity. Findings regarding the construct validity of the scale demonstrated that six-factor model showed acceptable fit to the data. The results demonstrated an adequate internal consistency. Furthermore, correlations of the behavioral regulations with goal orientations and basic needs satisfactions in exercise provided the evidence for the convergent and discriminant validity of the measure. In sum, results indicated that BREQ-3 is a reliable and valid scale in within the context of exercise in Turkey.

    Adaptation of Caregivers' Task Scale for Multiple Sclerosis To Turkish Society: Validity and Reliability Study

    Objectives: This study was planned and carried out methodologically to adapt the Caregiving Tasks in Multiple Sclerosis Scale (CTiMSS) to Turkish society. Methods: A methodological research. The study was conducted with caregivers of individuals with multiple sclerosis who presented to the neurology clinic of a university hospital between June 2019 and September 2020. The validity and reliability study of the Caregiving Tasks in Multiple Sclerosis Scale (CTiMSS) was performed with a total of 142 individuals, which is more than 5 times the number of items on the scale (24 items). Results: The validity of the CTiMSS was evaluated with language validity, construct validity (CFA), and content validity. The reliability coefficient of the internal consistency analysis (Cronbach's Alpha) was found to be extremely high (0.97). Item-total correlation of the scale was examined, and accordingly, no items were removed from the scale. The scale was administered to 30 patients at a two-week interval to analyze test-retest reliability and time-dependent invariance. Conclusion: The CTiMSS, which was adapted to Turkish society to evaluate the tasks of individuals providing care for individuals with multiple sclerosis, is a valid and reliable tool. We recommend that it should be administered to different groups and cultures to increase its evidence value. CTiMSS is an appropriate measurement tool to determine the duties of caregivers of individuals with multiple sclerosis.

    Psychometrics of Stanford Presenteeism Scale-Short Form in Turkish

    AIM: Presenteeism means that employees feel obliged to go to work even if there is a real problem that they cannot work.The main purpose is to to adapt the "Stanford Presenteeism Scale-Short Form" into Turkish on Nurses. METHOD: This is a methodological study. The study sample included the nurses working at the medical and surgical clinics of two public hospitals in 2017 in Istanbul. A total of 290 nurses participated in the study. Language, content, construct validities, total item correlation analysis, Kaiser Meyer Olkin, Bartlett tests, confirmatory and explanatory factor analysis (EFA), stability, and Cronbach's alpha reliability analyses were tested. RESULTS: The content validity index of the scale was.92. Two items that have correlation values below.40 were removed from the Turkish form. Cronbach's alpha internal consistency coefficient was.762. The structure of the four-item and single-factor Turkish form was confirmed. CONCLUSION: Stanford Presenteeism Scale-Short Form is a valid and reliable tool for the nurses in Turkey. It is recommended to be used among nurses in different studies. Hospital and nursing care service managers should deal with "presenteeism," since it is becoming a critical health human resource workforce issue. Health care managers may use this tool to evaluate the presenteeism level of their employees.
