Article Nurses’ Attitudes Toward Physical Examination(Univ Indonesia, 2026) Cayli, Nazan; Sari, Merve Kiymac; Nirgiz, CansuBackground: This descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the attitudes of nurses working in clinical settings toward conducting physical examinations. Methods: The sample surveyed consisted of 364 nurses currently working at 14 branches of a private hospital with facilities in seven cities, who participated voluntarily. Data was collected online via a survey created through Google Forms, applying descriptive characteristics form and the Physical Examination Attitude and Practice Scale in Nursing. The data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Spearman's rank-order correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Results: It was found that nurses had moderately positive attitudes toward conducting physical examinations in clinical settings, while their participation rates in in-service training related to physical examinations were low. A moderate but significant positive correlation was observed in the scores of the sub-dimension barriers to performing physical examination, and a very weak but significant negative correlation was found in the benefits and usefulness of physical examination. Conclusion: Practical training aimed at improving nurses' knowledge and skills related to physical examination and their cultural sensitivity should be emphasized at the undergraduate level, as well as through in-service training programs.Article The Relationship Between Nurses Anxiety and Attitudes Towards Artificial Intelligence and Examination of Influencing Factors(BMC, 2026) Nirgiz, Cansu; Sari, Merve Kiymac; Cayli, NazanAim to explore the relationships between nurses'anxiety and attitudes toward artificial intelligence (AI) and the factors associated with them. Background Although AI technologies are increasingly integrated into healthcare, research exploring nurses ' psychological readiness and emotional responses to AI remains limited. Existing studies have primarily focused on nursing students or general healthcare professionals, leaving a gap in understanding how practicing nurses perceive and emotionally adapt to AI within real clinical environments-particularly in T & uuml;rkiye, where digital transformation in healthcare is accelerating. Addressing this gap is essential, as nurses play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and ethical implementation of AI-driven tools in patient care. Methods This descriptive and correlational study included 562 nurses from 14 branches of a private hospital chain across seven Turkish cities between November 2024 and January 2025.This sample was selected because it represents nurses actively engaged in clinical decision-making within healthcare systems that are rapidly adopting AI technologies. According to a power analysis performed in G*Power (rho = 0.25, alpha = 0.05, power = 0.95), the required sample size was 202 participants. Data were collected through an online questionnaire comprising a Descriptive Information Form, the AI Anxiety Scale, and the General Attitudes toward AI Scale. Descriptive statistics, independent samples t-tests, ANOVA (F), Tukey post hoc test, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analyses were conducted. Ethical approval was obtained from the Fenerbah & ccedil;e University Ethics Committee, and informed consent was obtained digitally. Results Nurses reported moderate anxiety levels and generally positive attitudes toward AI. Male nurses showed an association with lower anxiety levels and higher positive attitude scores than female nurses. Single individuals and those with higher levels of education showed higher positive attitudes toward AI. Those with 0-3 years of experience in the profession were associated with lower anxiety and higher positive attitude scores. Nurses who used AI in practice, were knowledgeable about its use, or perceived it as reliable showed a relationship with lower anxiety and more positive attitudes. Regression analysis showed that each one-unit increase in the learning and AI configuration subscales of the AI Anxiety Scale was associated with a 0.740-and 0.716-point lower score in the total attitude score, respectively. Conclusion The findings suggest that lower levels of anxiety related to learning and AI configuration are associated with more positive attitudes toward AI. Addressing these specific anxiety domains may be related to the successful integration of AI technologies into clinical practice and could be linked to the digital transformation in healthcare.Article Nursing Students Thoughts and Knowledge Levels About Global Warming(Marmara Univ, inst Health Sciences, 2024) Gür, Kamer; Kolac, Nurcan; Çalık, Kesver Burcu; Nirgiz, Cansu; Doğan, RıdvanObjective: The aim of this study is to determine nursing students’ thoughts and knowledge levels about global warming. Methods: This descriptive study was conducted with 236 nursing students studying at the faculty of health sciences of a state university between May and July 2022. Data were collected using a Sociodemographic Form, the Global Warming Questionnaire. Independent Samples t-test, One-Way ANOVA were used to evaluate the data. Results: Ninety-seven percent of the students stated that global warming was a public health issue. Students’ mean score on the global warming knowledge scale was 90.02±8.76. There was a significant difference between the mean scale score participating in activities on the subject, having received information/education on environment, climate change aside from undergraduate education, wanting to become a member of an environmental non-governmental organization, and school year (p <.05). Conclusion: Participants’ knowledge level about global warming was above the average value of the scale. However, they still needed information, greater sensitivity to participate in environmental non-governmental organizations, global warming activities. For all these reasons, it is recommended that nursing students increase their knowledge and sensitivity during their undergraduate education, learn ways to combat the adverse effects of climate change, put them into practice.Article Citation - WoS: 8Citation - Scopus: 7Syrian Refugees' Experiences While Receiving Mental Health Services and Psychiatric Nursing Care: a Qualitative Study(Wiley, 2024) Ozturk, Gizem; Timarcioglu, Kuebra; Dikec, Gul; Karali, Ece; Nacaroglu, Hamza; Cakir, Hanife; Seren, Arzu Kader Harmanci; Harmanci Seren, Arzu KaderAim: This study examined the experiences of Syrian refugees in a community centre in Turkiye as they access mental health services and receive psychiatric nursing care.Design: A qualitative design was adopted in the study.Methods: Data were collected from southern Turkiye between November and December 2021. The researchers conducted three semi-structured focus group interviews. Colaizzi's phenomenological method was followed to analyse the qualitative data. A total of 19 Syrian refugees participated in the focus group interviews.Results: Three key themes related to immigrants' experiences of receiving mental health services and nursing care were identified: barriers to receiving mental health services, coping with negative experiences in Turkiye and satisfaction with mental health services. The participants identified the barriers they experienced while receiving health services as those pertaining to language, discrimination and stigmatization. They also mentioned the methods of coping with these negative experiences in Turkiye. Despite their negative experiences, they expressed satisfaction with the mental health services they received, especially psychiatric nursing care.Conclusions: This study determined that Syrian refugees face barriers in accessing and receiving mental health services. They stated that mental health professionals in Turkiye approach them with empathy, particularly those in psychiatric nursing. Background Because 'change' is an inevitable fact of today's health care environments, developing change management competencies at all levels is a must to survive and compete for the organisations and professionals in the health care systems. Methods A descriptive qualitative approach was used. The sample consisted of 18 nurses reached by using snowball sampling. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analysed using the Colaizzi method in the NVivo12 program. Results The results of the study were collected under three main themes: 'general approaches and initial responses to change', 'factors affecting attitudes toward change' and 'strategic mistakes made by managers during the change process'. Conclusion The study showed that nurses show different reactions to change. Their attitudes towards change could be affected positively and negatively by the relevant factors. Nurses thought that managers were making strategic mistakes during the change process. Implications for nursing management Recognizing the approaches of nurses and managers towards change and increasing awareness of the mistakes during the change process may contribute to the achievement of the change processes in health care settings.
