Evaluation of Barriers Toward Data-Driven Supply Chain Sustainability Via Single-Valued Pythagorean Piprecia
(Amer Inst Mathematical Sciences-AIMS, 2026) Turan, Hakan; Buyukselcuk, Elif Caloglu
Sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) is a holistic approach that encompasses economic, social, and environmental dimensions, enabling firms to enhance their long-term competitiveness by meeting legal requirements and strengthening brand equity. The effective implementation of this approach necessitates a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making. Accordingly, we aimed to identify the key barriers hindering the implementation of data-driven sustainable supply chain practices and to explore potential strategies to overcome these challenges. In the initial phase of the study, a comprehensive literature review was conducted to identify the major barriers to implementing data-driven sustainable supply chains. Subsequently, the relative importance of these barriers was assessed with input from top and mid-level managers working in manufacturing sector enterprises. The identified barriers were then prioritized using the Pivot Pairwise Relative Criteria Importance Assessment (PIPRECIA) method based on Pythagorean fuzzy numbers. Finally, solution proposals were developed to address the most critical barriers. The study revealed that organizational barriers constitute the most prominent category, representing 29.86% of the total identified obstacles. Closely following are technical barriers, which account for 26.41% and reflect the difficulties associated with implementing and integrating digital technologies. Internal and external environmental barriers are similarly substantial, comprising 25.87% of the total. In comparison, economic barriers make up the smallest share, with a relative weight of 17.86%. The number of researchers analyzing the importance weights of barriers in the context of SSCM 4.0 remains limited. The utilization of a more contemporary and robust method compared to previously applied techniques for determining these weights enhances the originality of this study.

The Best Whey Protein Powder Selection Via Vikor Based on Circular Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets
(Mdpi, 2023) Buyukselcuk, Elif Caloglu; Sari, Yigit Can; Çaloğlu Büyükselçuk, Elif
People try very hard to have a symmetrical, strong, and beautiful body. The human body needs high amino acids for muscle protein synthesis. Whey protein is a good choice that contains all amino acids, which increases muscle protein synthesis and improves body shape with resistance exercise. For this reason, those who do sports, especially professionals, prefer to use these products frequently. A large number of commercial whey protein powders are sold on the market, and to achieve maximum purpose, individuals want to use the best one. Intuitionistic fuzzy sets are used in order to minimize the negative effects of the uncertainty environment and ambiguous information encountered in the decision-making process on the solution. In this study, VIKOR, based on the circular intuitionistic fuzzy set, has been used to determine the best whey protein supplement. In line with the comprehensive literature review and expert opinions, the evaluation criteria affecting the selection process have been determined, and the solution of the problem has been focused.

Player Selection in Football by Integrated Swara-Vikor Methods Under Fuzzy Environment
(Cell Press, 2024) Buyukselcuk, Elif Caloglu; Badem, Eray; Çaloğlu Büyükselçuk, Elif
This study aims to provide an objective evaluation and selection of the most suitable players for the Turkish National Football Team by using multi-criteria decision-making methods, specifically Stepwise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) and VIsekriterijumsko KOmpromisno Rangiranje (VIKOR) based on neutrosophic numbers. In the initial step of the study, the important criteria for player selection were determined, and a total of 21 and 26 criteria were identified for goalkeeper and players, respectively. Agility, reflexes and jumping ability are very important for goalkeeper whereas marking, passing ability, agility, dribbling, and footwork are the most important criteria for players. The performances of the players were evaluated due to these criteria and finally the Turkish National Football Team was established scientifically because of the best player selection. This decision-making process will be more beneficial in making more informed and effective decisions in the national team's player selection process. The success of the team can be improved by providing an objective and systematic player selection approach.

Evaluation of Industrial Iot Service Providers With Topsis Based on Circular Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets
(Tech Science Press, 2024) Buyukselcuk, Elif Caloglu
Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) service providers have become increasingly important in the manufacturing industry due to their ability to gather and process vast amounts of data from connected devices, enabling manufacturers to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. These platforms provide manufacturers with real-time visibility into their production processes and supply chains, allowing them to optimize operations and make informed decisions. In addition, IIoT service providers can help manufacturers create new revenue streams through the development of innovative products and services and enable them to leverage the benefits of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning. Overall, the implementation of IIoT platforms in the manufacturing industry is crucial for companies seeking to remain competitive and meet the ever-increasing demands of customers in the digital age. In this study, the evaluation criteria to be considered in the selection of IIoT service provider in small and medium-sized (SME) manufacturing enterprises will be determined and IIoT service providers alternatives will be evaluated using the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution (TOPSIS) method based on circular intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Based on the assessments conducted in accordance with the literature review and expert consultations, a set of 8 selection criteria has been established. These criteria encompass industry expertise, customer support, flexibility and scalability, security, cost-effectiveness, reliability, data analytics, as well as compatibility and usability. Upon evaluating these criteria, it was observed that the security criterion holds the highest significance, succeeded by cost-effectiveness, data analytics, flexibility and scalability, reliability, and customer support criteria, in descending order of importance. Following the evaluation of seven distinct alternatives against these criteria, it was deduced that the A6 alternative, a German service provider, emerged as the most favorable option. The identical issue was addressed utilizing sensitivity analysis alongside various multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods, and after comprehensive evaluation, the outcomes were assessed. Spearman's correlation coefficient was computed to ascertain the association between the rankings derived from solving the problem using diverse MCDM methods.
