This systematic review synthesizes evidence on physical, psychosocial, and organizational challenges faced by women in hazardous environments through a human-cantered systems lens. Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, 24 peer-reviewed studies (2010–2025) from Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed were analyzed. The literature highlights exposure to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), PPE mismatch, postural load, and inequitable access to safety resources. Thematic analysis reveals that ergonomic inequalities intersect with exclusion from safety training and organizational barriers in risk management. Findings underscore the need for interdisciplinary approaches integrating ergonomics, intelligent systems, and gender studies to enable safer and more inclusive workplaces for women in high-risk occupations. © 2026 The Authors.Book Part Preventing Violence in Schools: A Psychoeducation Program Examining the Effects on Teachers Perceptions and Attitudes Toward Violence and Bullying(AHFE International, 2026) Tunca O.O.; Kaya A.G.; Cikrikci A.; Kılıc C.; Cicek H.S.; Cevher T.; Ergul E.B.; Cevher, Turker; Cicek, Havvane Sama; Kaya, Alp Giray; Tunca, Ozlem Ozden; Ergul, Esra Betul; Kılıc, Cetin; Cikrikci, AycaThis study experimentally examined changes in teachers’ and school counseling (SC) professionals’ perceptions and attitudes toward violence and peer bullying through the psychoeducational program “Preventing Violence in Schools: Where Do I Stand?”, developed by the researchers. An explanatory sequential mixed-methods design was employed. Following quantitative data collection, results were examined using a phenomenological design.The sample consisted of 36 participants 20 SC professionals and 16 subject-area teachers working in public schools in Istanbul. To test the significance of the psychoeducation, the sample was divided into two groups consisting of subject-area teachers showing similar distribution parallel to the SCs. Participants completed the Personal Information Form, “Teacher Attitudes Toward School Bullying Scale” before and after the eight-week intervention. Additionally, qualitative data were collected via the “Interview Form on Perceptions of Bullying and Violence” to obtain a deeper understanding of participants’ views. Results indicated no statistically significant differences between pre-test and post-test scores. Professional seniority and age showed significant positive correlations with the “harsh attitude” subdimension. When groups were compared, “harsh attitude” scores differed significantly, with subject teachers scoring higher. Participants’ number of children positively correlated with the “indifference attitude” dimension. Qualitative findings showed both groups perceived bullying as repetitive power dynamic. Subject teachers linked prevention gaps to systemic issues, while SCs identified stakeholders closedness to cooperation and administrative indifference as main difficulties. Regarding interventions, teachers prioritized disciplinary systems, observation, rules, whereas SCs favored child-centered consultation for all stakeholders. Fires are among the serious dangers that can cause loss of life and property in workplaces. Fire safety is one of the basic safety precautions that should be taken in workplaces. Reducing fire risks and increasing employees’ awareness are of great importance in terms of occupational health and safety. Fire safety awareness is a critical issue in terms of preventing occupational accidents and directly affects the effectiveness of safety precautions taken in workplaces. This study aims to evaluate the fire safety awareness level of 163 people working in a higher education institution in Turkey and reached by random sampling method, to analyze the effectiveness of current training programs and precautions and thus to reveal what kind of precautions can be taken in terms of occupational safety. The results revealed that employees have a general awareness of fire safety but they lack knowledge about emergency procedures. Within the scope of the study, it was suggested that training programs within the institution should be increased and fire drills should be carried out regularly in order to increase fire safety awareness. © 2025. The fact that these closed spaces threaten the health of people living and working in them and cause diseases, has led to these buildings being called “sick building syndrome (SBS)”. Sick building syndrome results in the health of people who spend time and work in these buildings being affected both physically and psychologically. The aim of this study is to reveal the symptoms of sick building syndrome and its effects on stress, which is a psycho-social risk at workplace. A cross-sectional study conducted in two randomly selected shopping malls in Turkey involved 268 employees. Research findings indicate that employees suffer from symptoms like dry throat, runny nose, eye irritation, headaches, muscle-joint pain and fatigue. Additionally, it has been observed that these symptoms intensify during peak weekend traffic Moreover, the sick buildings phenomenon increases the stress levels of employees’ due to the conditions associated with enclosed spaces. © 2024. Published by AHFE.Conference Object Classification of Noisy Histopathology Images with Bayesian and Ensemble Deep Learning(SPIE, 2025) Akturk, B.; Bilgin, G.The classification of histopathology image data using deep learning algorithms is a pivotal aspect in cancer diagnosis, offering crucial benefits in terms of accuracy and rapid decision-making for pathologists, technologists, clinicians, and researchers. However, the complex process of data structuring and labeling often involves the presence of noisy or outlier labels and images, which inevitably diminish the training and predictive efficacy of classification models. This study introduces an innovative approach for classifying histopathology images with noisy characteristics, presenting a learning process resilient to noise. In this dataset, where classification performance is inherently challenged, popular transfer learning models are integrated with Bayesian deep learning and ensemble learning algorithms. This integration helps mitigate common problems such as overfitting and underfitting in outlier data predictions, yielding more stable outcomes. These hybrid methods, unaffected by the noise and uncertainty in data structures, demonstrate performance comparable to, or even surpassing, transfer learning algorithms. Consequently, the viability of addressing real-world noisy dataset scenarios is enhanced. GunizBreast cancer remains one of the most prevalent and lethal malignancies among women, highlighting the urgent need for novel therapeutic strategies that can overcome resistance mechanisms. The p38 alpha mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK14) plays a key role in inflammation-associated oncogenic signaling, making it an attractive molecular target for drug development. In this study, a novel series of diclofenac-based hydrazone derivatives (4a-4o) were designed, synthesized, and characterized using FT-IR, 1H- and 13C-NMR spectroscopy, thin-layer chromatography, and elemental analysis. Computational target profiling using SwissTargetPrediction identified MAPK14 as the primary predicted target. Molecular docking against the MAPK14 crystal structure (PDB ID: 1WBS) revealed high binding affinities (-11.41 to -8.34 kcal/mol), supported by MM/GBSA free energy calculations and molecular dynamics simulations, which confirmed stable ligand-protein interactions through hydrogen bonding with Asp168 and Glu71. In vitro cytotoxicity assays on MCF-7 (luminal A) and MDA-MB-231 (triple-negative) breast cancer cell lines demonstrated low-micromolar IC50 values, with compounds 4c, 4d, and 4e showing the strongest activity (2.1-4.5 mu M), surpassing the reference drug Tamoxifen. It is a saddle-shaped diarthrodial joint comprised of a large clavicular head and a small fossa on the manubrium sterni. The SCJ plays a crucial role in facilitating a wide range of shoulder movements, allowing for clavicle rotation and abduction. Despite its relatively small size and limited bony locking, the SCJ requires robust ligaments to maintain stability and withstand substantial forces. Particularly in sports like football, martial arts, and soccer, direct and indirect traumas can easily lead to injuries in this joint. SCJ injuries are relatively common, and they often complicate other shoulder injuries. Because of the strength of its ligaments, dislocations of this joint are rare, accounting for less than 1% of all dislocations. However, posterior dislocations, although infrequent, can be life-threatening. In this chapter, we will provide a brief overview of the anatomy, patterns of injury, imaging techniques, and treatment options related to the SCJ. © 2025 Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
