Article Citation - WoS: 9Citation - Scopus: 7Investigation of Land Cover (lc)/Land Use (lu) Change Affecting Forest and Seminatural Ecosystems in Istanbul (turkey) Metropolitan Area Between 1990 and 2018(Springer, 2023) Bozkurt, Selvinaz Gulcin; Kusak, Lutfiye; Akkemik, UnalThis study was conducted to examine the land cover (LC)/land use (LU) change affecting forest and seminatural ecosystems and the spatio-temporal development of urban expansion between 1990 and 2018 in the city of Istanbul, where urbanization is the most intense in Turkey. For this purpose, using Corine Land Cover (1990, 2000, 2006, 2012, and 2018) dataset, the land cover of the area was determined in 5 different classes (artificial surface, agriculture, forest, water bodies, water), maps were produced, and tabular data were created. The changes in LC/LU between 1990 and 2018 were determined according to the Puyravaud land cover change rate and hot spot analysis methods. According to our findings, we determined that urbanization in Istanbul expanded the most in the east-west direction, and the agricultural and forest areas gradually decreased by 3.02% and 6.66% respectively; urban areas increased at the same rate of 9.69%. It is predicted that this change will continue increasing until 2030 when the forecasting method is applied in the field. It has been determined that the most important reasons for this situation are local government policies, population growth, and economic development initiatives applied in the area. As a result, it has emerged that measures should be taken based on sustainability and naturalness approaches to design urban development plans and to protect natural areas on a large scale, in order to limit possible LC/LU conversion from natural structure to urbanization in the area.Article Citation - WoS: 4Citation - Scopus: 5The Validity and Reliability of the Thanatophobia Scale-Turkish Form: a Psychometric Study Among Nurses(Sage Publications inc, 2024) Cifcioglu, Zulfiye Yildiz; Seren, Arzu K. HarmanciPurpose: To examine the validity and reliability of the Thanatophobia Scale-Turkish Form among nurses. Design and methods: This methodological study included 154 nurses. Content and construct validity, item analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and internal consistency were used to evaluate the data. Findings: The content validity index of the scale was 0.91. Item-total score correlation values varied between 0.453 and 0.718. As a result of the confirmatory factor analyses, one factor was confirmed. Cronbach's alpha internal consistency coefficient was 0.854. Practice Implications: Thanatophobia Scale-Turkish Form is a valid and reliable tool used to evaluate the fear of death among nurses.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1Relationship Between E-Health Literacy and Healthy Lifestyle Behaviours of Turkish Health Sciences Students(Emerald Publishing, 2025) Çakır, Furkan; Ozturk, Sergen; Gerçek, Hasan; Eryildiz, Ezgi; Kartal, Gokce; Polat, Mine GuldenPurpose: E-health literacy (EHL) and healthy lifestyle behaviours (HLBs) are important for individuals receiving health education. Health professionals of the future should be conscious, e-health literate and develop HLBs. The aims of this study were to determine the EHL and HLBs of university students receiving health education and to examine the relationship between them. Design/methodology/approach: A total of 1,454 health sciences students, between the ages of 18–27, were included in the study. Participants' data were collected online via Google Forms. Participants' EHL levels were assessed with the E-Health Literacy Scale. Participants' HLB were assessed with the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviours Scale II. Findings: Positive weak correlation was found between EHL and HLB (p < 0.001, r = 0.329). EHL scores of bachelor’s degree students were higher than associate degree students (p = 0.004). HBL total score bachelor’s and associate degree student scores were similar (p = 0.714). Originality/value: This article addresses an important gap in understanding health sciences students' online reading habits about health and their relationship to HLB. Considering that there is a positive relationship between EHL and HLBs of students in the health departments of universities, increasing the EHL levels of students will help to increase HLBs. © 2025, Emerald Publishing Limited.Review Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 3Seroprevalence of coxiella Burnetii in Human and Animal Populations in Tiirkiye: Meta-Analysis(Kafkas Univ, veteriner Fakultesi dergisi, 2023) Kilbas, Imdat; Kahraman Kilbas, Elmas Pinar; Ciftci, Ihsan HakkiThis study aims to reveal Coxiella burnetii by examining the studies reporting Q fever seroprevalence in humans and animals in the last 25 years in Turkiye. In this study, based on PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses), various databases were searched between January 1997 and October. 2022. A literature review was carried out using data analyses performed using the IBM SPSS Version 25.0 statistical package program and Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) program. Overall prevalence of C. burnetii in humans was 22.78% (95% CI: 16.43%-29.12%), overall prevalence in animals was 13.49% (95% CI: 10.04-16.93%) was detected. The mean prevalence of C. burnetii in sheep was 19.1%+/- 10.88, 10.46 +/- 6.39% in cattle, 15.21 +/- 10.01% in studies including cattle and sheep together, 11.17 +/- 10.74 in cattle, sheep and goats, and 12.4%+/- 1.15% in sheep and goats. As a result of this study, it was determined that the prevalence of Q fever in humans in Turkiye is high in those dealing with animals, women who had a miscarriage, and infertile individuals. Although it is known that this disease is seen in Turkiye, there are not enough case reports in the literature. Detailed studies on Q fever in humans and animals need to be conducted. GunizThe discovery of new antimicrobial molecules is crucial for combating drug-resistant bacterial and fungal infections that pose a dangerous threat to human health. In the current research, we applied a molecular hybridization approach to synthesize original thiosemicarbazide-triazole derivatives starting from (S)-naproxen (7a-7k). After structural characterization using FT-IR, H-1-NMR, C-13-NMR, and HR-MS, the obtained compounds were screened for their antimicrobial activities against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Candida albicans ATCC 10231 and their isolates, as well. Although all compounds were found to be moderate antimicrobial agents, in general, their antibacterial activities were better than antifungal effects. Among the tested compounds, 7j carrying nitrophenyl group on the thiosemicarbazide functionality represented the best MIC value against S. aureus isolate. Finally, molecular docking studies were performed in the active pocket of S. aureus flavohemoglobin to rationalize the obtained biological data.Article A Guide To Facilitate the Creation of a Femoral Tunnel for Arthroscopic Ligamentum Teres Reconstruction: a Three-Dimensional Computed Tomography Study(Oxford Univ Press, 2024) Ismailoglu, Abdul Veli; Ismailoglu, Pelin; Zeynalov, Samir, I; Ozdogmus, Omer; Yildizhan, Saliha Elif; Bayramoglu, Alp; Kayaalp, AsimThe ideal femoral tunnel passing through the centre of the femoral neck targeted to the footprint of the ligamentum teres (LT) is established during the LT reconstruction surgery with the free-hand technique. We aimed to quantitatively determine the entry site and define the angular orientation of the ideal femoral tunnel with its relevance to the femoral valgus angle (FVA) and the femoral anteversion angle (FAA) to facilitate the creation of an ideal femoral tunnel during the LT reconstruction surgery. A total of 60 randomly selected CT images were obtained to reconstruct three-dimensional femur models. A virtual reamer representing the ideal femoral tunnel was placed in the femur models. The femur length, FVA, FAA, the femoral tunnel anterior angle, the femoral tunnel superior angle and the skin- and bony-entry sites were measured. The femoral tunnel angular orientation was strongly correlated with the FVA and the FAA. Mathematical formulas were defined by which entry site of the reamer and the anterior and superior angulation of the femoral tunnel could be estimated before the surgery. The mean skin-entry site was 67.3 mm distal and 0.1 mm anterior to the centre of the greater trochanter's superior border. The angular orientation of the femoral tunnel using FVA and FAA can be easily estimated using mathematical formulas before LT reconstruction surgery. The entry site and angular orientation of the femoral tunnel described in this study can be used to reduce dependency on the usage of fluoroscopy and the workload on the surgeon during the LT reconstruction surgery.Article The Moderating Role of Gender in Perceived Discrimination Levels and Political Participation of Turkish Women(Walter de Gruyter Gmbh, 2025) Ozkilicci, Gokce; Yamaner, OnurThis study explores the relationship between women's political participation, perceived discrimination, and gender dynamics in Turkey. Political participation embodies an individual's aspiration to influence societal transformation and contribute to decision-making processes that shape communities. However, women's engagement in these processes has long been hindered by deeply rooted societal norms and systemic barriers. The primary objective of this research is to examine how perceived discrimination impacts women's political participation and to assess whether gender perceptions moderate this relationship. Data were collected from 313 female university students aged 18-58, utilizing the Political Participation Scale, Gender Perception Scale, and Perceived Discrimination Index. The results demonstrated a significant positive correlation between perceived discrimination and political participation, with gender perception acting as a key moderator. Women with stronger gender equality beliefs were more likely to recognize discrimination and engage in political activities. These findings emphasize the critical role of cultural, educational, and institutional strategies in enhancing women's political visibility and addressing systemic barriers. The study provides a robust foundation for developing egalitarian policies to promote women's active participation in politics, fostering a more inclusive democratic landscape.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 2Investigating Body Image and Self-Esteem in Kidney Transplant Patients: a Qualitative Study(Wolters Kluwer Medknow Publications, 2024) Akinci, N.; Varisoglu, Y.Background:Kidney transplantation is one of the life-saving therapies for patients with end-stage renal disease, which affects a person's psychological, social, and physical well-being. How transplanted patients perceive their illness and their body can affect their physical and psychological recovery.Aim:This qualitative study was designed to evaluate self-esteem and body image in kidney transplant patients.Methods:The study involved 16 female renal transplanted patients. Data were collected using a two-part interview form developed by the investigators in accordance with the literature. We used Lundman's method to transcribe the interviews and coded the data from the interviews. The results of the study were discussed using the themes. The first three interviews were entered into MAXQDA, and then, additional interviews were analyzed.Results:Six main themes and 15 subthemes were generated based on the thematic analysis of the interviews with participants about body image and self-esteem. Themes included body acceptance, changes in body image, deterioration of social relationships, changes in self-esteem, spousal concerns, and organ perceptions. This study collected detailed data on body image, self-esteem, social relationships, and spouse/partner relationships after kidney transplantation.Conclusion:The change in participants' body image and self-esteem after kidney transplantation caused having negative feelings regarding sexual life, relationships, and social life and feeling unfamiliar with the transplanted organ.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1Does Working Style Affect the Occupational Balance and Life Satisfaction of Office Workers in Turkey? a Comparison Study(Ios Press, 2024) Degerli, Medine Nur Ozata; Aydoner, Selen; Altuntas, Onur; Bumin, GoncaBACKGROUND: The coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) has caused various effects, changing people's lives and work styles. During this period, workplaces decided to work remotely, so people spent more time at home. Therefore, workers' personal and work lives were negatively affected. OBJECTIVE: This study planned to compare traditional and remote office workers' occupational balance and life satisfaction in Turkey during COVID-19. METHODS: Google Survey was used for data collection. Three hundred office workers (18-65 years old) from Turkey participated in the study. The occupational balance and life satisfaction levels of participants were assessed using the Occupational Balance Questionnaire (QB-Quest) and Personal Well-being Index-Adult (PWI-A). RESULTS: Data collected were analyzed statistically by the Independent Sample t-test. It was found that the remote office workers had lower levels of occupational balance (p = 0.02; r = -3.317) and life satisfaction (p = 0.01; r = -2.199) compared to the traditional office workers. CONCLUSION: Remote office workers were found to have lower occupational balance and life satisfaction than traditional office workers. In this period, when the way of working changes like COVID-19, it is crucial to determine office workers' occupational balance and life satisfaction and take precautions for their job performance and satisfaction.Article Citation - WoS: 6Citation - Scopus: 7Respiratory Muscle Endurance in Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome(Daedalus Enterprises inc, 2022) Dusgun, Elif Sena; Aslan, Goksen Kuran; Abanoz, Ebru Seker; Kiyan, EsenBACKGROUND: An increase in respiratory work load and resistance to respiration cause a decrease in respiratory muscle endurance (RME) in patients with obesity hypoventilation syndrome (OHS). We aimed to evaluate and compare RME in subjects with OHS and a control group using an incremental load test and compare the RME of subjects with OHS in whom noninvasive ventilation (NIV) was and was not used. METHODS: Forty subjects with OHS (divided according to body mass index [BMI] as group I: 30-40 kg/m(2); and group II: 6 40 kg/m(2)) and 20 subjects with obesity (control group: 30-40 kg/m(2)) were included in the study. RME was evaluated using the incremental load test, and respiratory muscle strength (RMS) was evaluated using mouth pressure measurements. The 6-min walk test, Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS), EQ-5D Health-Related Quality of Life Questionnaire (EQ-5D), and the Obesity and Weight-Loss Quality of Life Instrument (OWLQOL) were performed. RESULTS: RME and RMS (%) in group I were lower than the control group (P=.001, P=.005, and P=.001, respectively). No significant difference was found between the 3 groups in terms of 6-min walk distance (6MWD) percentage predicted values (P=.98). RME in the NIV user group was higher than the non-user group (P 5.006). ESS, total PSQI, and FSS scores in the control group were less than group I (P=.01, P=.009, and P=.005, respectively) and group II (P 5.01, P <.001, and P <.001, respectively). The EQ-5D scores of the control group were higher than group II only (P=.005 and P=.005, respectively). There were no differences in OWLQOL between the groups (P=.053). CONCLUSIONS: RME was low in subjects with OHS but higher in those who used NIV. This study evaluated the total antioxidant capacities (TAC) of specific grape varieties (Sultaniye, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Carignan, Alicante Bouschet, and Merlot) using the CUPRAC (CUPric Reducing Antioxidant Capacity) and ABTS/HRP (2,2’-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)/horseradish peroxidase) methods. Additionally, total phenolic, flavonoid, and anthocyanin contents were determined via Folin Ciocalteu, AlCl3/NaNO2, and pH differential methods. Primary phenolic compounds were identified with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography-Photodiode Array (HPLC-PDA). TAC values of the grape juices (mmol Trolox L−1) ranked as Alicante > Shiraz > Sultaniye > Carignan > Merlot > Chardonnay by CUPRAC, and Shiraz > Alicante > Merlot > Carignan ≥ Sultaniye > Chardonnay by ABTS/HRP and for skin extracts (mmol Trolox g−1), Carignan > Alicante > Shiraz > Merlot > Chardonnay > Sultaniye by CUPRAC, and Carignan > Shiraz > Alicante > Merlot > Chardonnay > Sultaniye by ABTS/HRP. The study demonstrated a strong correlation between phenolic composition and TAC values in grape samples, with anthocyanins as the predominant family contributing significantly to TAC. Varietal and intra-fruit differences in specific phenolic compounds were found to account for variations in observed TAC levels. Specifically, grape skin samples showed a more robust correlation between antioxidant capacity and total phenolic content (r = 0.986) than grape juices (r = 0.777). These findings underscore the considerable variation in antioxidant potential among grape varieties and emphasize the critical role of phenolic composition in the health-related benefits of grape consumption. © 2024 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.Article Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 5Paricalcitol Protects Against Hydrogen Peroxide-Induced Injury in Endothelial Cells Through Suppression of Apoptosis(Frontiers Media Sa, 2023) Koksal, Muhammet Murat; Sekerler, Turgut; Cevik, Ozge; Sener, AzizeThe vascular endothelium is one of the main targets of oxidative stress which plays an important role in the pathophysiology of vascular damage. Recent studies show that vitamin D can positively regulate endothelial functions in various chronic diseases and in cases of increased oxidative stress. In our study, we investigated the restorative and protective potentials of paricalcitol which is frequently used in patients with chronic renal failure, a vitamin D analogue, in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) before and after H2O2-induced oxidative stress. Paricalcitol treatment after the oxidative stress induced by H2O2 increased cell viability in endothelial cells depending on the dose that was used. While paricalcitol (500 nM) decreased caspase-3 activity and mitochondrial membrane potential loss, it increased nitric oxide (NO) production and reduced glutathione (GSH) levels. Paricalcitol treatment before oxidative stress increased cell viability. It increased NO production and mitochondrial membrane potential while significantly reducing caspase-3 activity. While paricalcitol caused a significant inhibition of protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) reductase activity in healthy endothelial cells, it did not cause a significant change on the PDI reductase activity under oxidative stress conditions. Present study showed that paricalcitol has restorative and protective effects on endothelial cells against oxidative injury, but these effects occur at high concentrations of paricalcitol.Article In Vivo and In Silico Evaluation of the Effects of Parsley (Petroselinum Crispum L.) In particular, the discovery of the relationship between Alzheimer's disease (AD) and the small intestine and the examination of the effects of AD on this tissue are important in this respect. Our study aimed to understand the effects of the experimentally created AD model in rats on the small intestinal tissue and the protective effect of the extract prepared from parsley leaves (PE). The experimental animals were divided into four groups in the study; Control, Scopolamine (Scop), Scop + PE and Scop + Galantamine (GAL). Oxidative stress parameters and activities of some important enzymes were examined in small intestinal tissues taken as a result of the experimental protocol. Additionally, in silico studies were carried out for bioactive molecules found in parsley leaves using data obtained from in vivo enzyme activity results. It was found that parameters examined for the damaged group, Scop, were reversed by PE and GAL treatment. As a result of in silico studies, it was determined that oxypeucedanin and phylloquinone had higher binding affinity than rutin for acetylcholinesterase (AChE). The purposes of this study were to: a) determine the acute effect of kinesio tape (KT) application on the ankle joint on balance performance, b) investigate the effects of an 8-week proprioceptive-neuromuscular (PN) training program on balance performance, and c) compare their effects vs modern dance technique classes alone. Thirty-three trained, university-level modern dance students (9 male, 24 female) were divided randomly into three groups: kinesio tape (KT, n=11), proprioceptive-neuromuscular (PN, n=11), or control (n=11). Static (turn-out passe-opened eyes/releve and turn-out passe-closed eyes/flat foot), semi-dynamic (airplane), and dynamic balance (monopodalic-straight and -transverse in a turn-out passe-eyes opened/flat foot) tests were performed before and after the intervention. One day after pre-tests, KT mechanical correction technique was applied to the left ankle joint (supporting leg) in the KT group, and tests were repeated to determine the acute effect of KT. The PN group participated in an 8-week balance training program (2 days/wk, 60 min/day) involving exercises using stable and unstable surfaces. Significant improvements were observed for all static and dynamic balance tests in the PN group; semi-dynamic airplane and dynamic monopodalic-straight and transverse tests improved in the KT group; and only semi-dynamic airplane test scores changed significantly for the control group (p<0.05). This study aims to investigate the possible effects of myrtle leaf extract (Myrtus communis L.) on, heart, kidney and aorta tissues in the experimental renovascular hypertension (RVH). 32 male Wistar Albino rats were divided into four groups as control, hypertension, hypertension+ramipril, and hypertension+myrtle leaf extract treatment groups. RVH model was induced by Goldblatt's 2-kidney 1-clip method. 12 weeks later than the treatment blood pressures were recorded and oxidant and antioxidant parameters, tissue factor activity, and histological analysis were determined in the kidney, heart, and aortic tissues. The blood pressure levels of the hypertension group significantly increased compared to the control group. Administration of myrtle leaf extract and ramipril significantly decreased the increased blood pressure. In the hypertension group, oxidative damage increased in the kidney, heart, and aorta tissues. In the histological evaluation of tissues in RVH, heart muscle fibres degenerated. Bowman capsule and glomeruli dilated and tubules damaged in the kidney. Myrtle leaf extract administration regenerated the damages and degenerations. The administration of myrtle leaf extract restored the impaired oxidant-antioxidant balance in the heart, kidney and aorta tissues of hypertensive rats. Exercise is a nonpharmacological way to reduce the negative health effects of obesity. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of exercise on hormone levels, blood-testis barrier, and inflammatory and oxidative biomarkers in rats that became obese due to a high-fat diet (HFD). Male rats received a standard diet (STD group) or a HFD (HFD group) for 18 weeks. During the final 6 weeks of the experiment, swimming exercises (1 h/5 days/week) were given to half of these animals (STD + EXC and HFD + EXC groups). Finally, blood and testicular tissues were analysed by biochemical and histological methods. Body weight, leptin, malondialdehyde, interleukin-6, TNF-alpha and myeloperoxidase levels, apoptotic cells and DNA fragmentation were increased, and testis weight, insulin, FSH, LH, testosterone, glutathione and superoxide dysmutase levels, proliferative cells, ZO-1, occludin, and gap junction protein Cx43 immunoreactivity were decreased in the HFD group. All these hormonal, morphological, oxidative and inflammatory biomarkers were enhanced in the HFD + EXC group. The questionnaire consisted of a patient information form, sexual quality of life scale-female, and diabetes self-management perception scale.Results:There was a significant relationship between diabetes self-management perception and sexual quality of life (P = 0.000). The individuals' diabetes self-management perception scores differed significantly according to their age (F = 3.12; P = 0.047), and the sexual quality of life scores differed significantly according to their treatment type (F = 4.01; P = 0.020).Conclusion:There is a relationship between quality of sexual life and self-management perceptions of women with type 2 DM. As the quality of sexual life increases, diabetes self-management perceptions increase. Extract on Nephrolithiasis Model in Rats(Kare Publishing, 2024) Ertas, B.; Dorucu, D.; Gulerturk, O.; Sen, A.; Cevik, O.; Cetinel, S.; Sener, G.OBJECTIVE: Nephrolithiasis is a common urological disease that can lead to renal failure. Oxidative stress has been shown to be a contributing factor for nephrolithiasis and many agents have been studied to prevent and treat oxidative stress-related nephrolithiasis and renal damage. Myrtus communis (MC) extract has been shown to be an important antioxidant in different animal models. In this study, MC extract was administered preventively or therapeutically to rats with kidney stones, and its effectiveness was investigated. METHODS: Wistar albino rats were divided into four groups (n=8); control (C), ethylene glycol (EG), EG+preventive MC, and EG+curative MC groups. The nephrolithiasis model was created by adding 0.75% EG to drinking water for 8 weeks. Ultimately, 24-hour urine was collected to measure calcium, citrate, and creatinine levels. After decapitation, kidney tissues were harvested for histological analyses, measurement of osteopontin and 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) levels, and N-acetyl-β-glucosaminidase (NAG), myeloperoxidase (MPO) and caspase-3 activities. RESULTS: In 24-hour urine samples, calcium, citrate and creatinine levels were decreased in the EG group, while oxalate levels were increased and in treatment groups these parameters returned to control levels. MPO, 8-OHdG, caspase-3 and NAG activity were significantly increased in tissue and these changes were reversed in both MC groups. Histological findings also supported the biochemical parameters. CONCLUSION: MC can reduce oxidative stress and histopathological changes in kidney tissues in rat nephrolithiasis model when used as either a preventive or therapeutic agent. If supported with further clinical trials, MC might have clinical implications in preventing oxidative renal cell injury and ultimately kidney stone formation. © 2024 by Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Health.Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 2Turkish Translation/Cultural Adaptation and Psychometric Analyses of the Affordances in the Home Environment for Motor Development-Infant Scale (ahemd-Is)(Sage Publications inc, 2023) Apaydin, Umut; Eraslan, Rabia; Balikci, Aymen; Elbasan, BuelentIn this study we translated the Affordances in the Home Environment for Motor Development-Infant Scale (AHEMD-IS) into Turkish, adapted the instrument culturally, examined its psychometric properties within a Turkish population, and identified its limitations. We administered the AHEMD-IS to families of 65 premature or full-term Turkish infants and repeated this testing for 17 families after one-two weeks to establish test-retest reliability. We calculated the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) and Cronbach alpha coefficient to assess reliability, and we evaluated test validity using the Spearman's correlation coefficient and correlations with the Bayley-III motor development score. The Cronbach Alpha coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.846, and, for test-retest reliability, the ICC score was 0.830. The Turkish AHEMD-IS total score was moderately correlated with the Bayley-III fine motor development score (r = 0.469, p < 0.001), the Bayley-III gross motor development score (r = 0.533, p < 0.001), and the Bayley-III total motor development score (r = 0.526, p < 0.001). The Turkish version of the AHEMD-IS was found to be valid and reliable for children born prematurely or at full-term. The use of this questionnaire in Turkey will facilitate the creation of a home environment that will support motor development in children between 3-18 months of age.
