Encountering uncertainty and managing imprecise information are fundamental aspects of KM that cannot be avoided. In this context, sustainable KM aims to solve these issues and address prioritizing the long-term sustainability and efficiency of knowledge-related processes within an organization. The aim of this study is to structure a sustainable KM concept for organizations and identify the most common critical success factors (CSFs) with a novel analytical approach. In this context, the Interval-Valued Neutrosophic methodology, which is one of the multi-criteria decision methods (MCDMs), was adopted to evaluate and weight the determined CSFs. Four main headings-KM, environmental, economical, and social criteria-are evaluated along with their subfactors. Our findings show that KM is found to be the most important, and environmental factors followed KM. When the results are examined in terms of subfactors, cleaner production is found to be the most significant, with a global weight value of 11.13.Article Citation - WoS: 9Citation - Scopus: 7Experiences of Hearing Parents of Children With Hearing Loss: a Qualitative Study(Mdpi, 2023) Dikec, Gul; Turk, Eda; Yuksel, Esin; Celebi, Kubra; Ozdemir, MeltemThis qualitative study was carried out with a phenomenological design to determine the life experiences of the parents of children with hearing loss. The study sample consisted of twenty parents, who did not have hearing loss, of children with hearing loss registered in a special education and rehabilitation center. The data were collected through in-depth interviews in Istanbul between December and January 2022. Colaizzi's phenomenological interpretation method was used for qualitative data analysis. It was determined that parents of children with hearing loss experienced anxiety, sadness, and happiness during diagnosis. They needed more information at first, but then they gained knowledge in the process, and it took work to accept this process. They stated that having a child with hearing loss requires more time, responsibility, and effort than other children. This situation affects their social life, and they experience interpersonal conflicts. When parents were asked how they coped, they said they did it through prayer, social support, or time to themselves. It can be recommended to apply psychosocial intervention programs to the parents of children with hearing loss, especially their mothers, from the first diagnosis process.Article Citation - WoS: 9Citation - Scopus: 11The Antioxidant, Anti-Inflammatory, and Antiplatelet Effects of ribes Rubrum L. Fruit Extract in the Diabetic Rats(Wiley, 2022) Gulmez, Gizem; Sen, Ali; Sekerler, Turgut; Algul, Fatma Kader; Cilingir-Kaya, Ozlem Tugce; Sener, AzizeThe prothrombotic and inflammatory state plays a significant role in the occurrence of cardiovascular complications in type 2 diabetes mellitus. In this study, the antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, and antiplatelet potentials of the extracts obtained from Ribes rubrum were investigated. The antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activities of the ethanol and water extracts of R. rubrum were evaluated by in vitro methods. The total phenolic and flavonoid contents were also determined. The experimental diabetes model in rats was induced with streptozotocin (STZ). After hyperglycemia occurred, the ethanol extracts of R. rubrum (RRE, at 100 mg/kg and 500 mg/kg doses) were administered to the treatment groups for 14 days. Blood glucose, lipid profile, plasma, and pancreas tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) levels were determined and compared at the end of the experiments. P-selectin levels and mitochondrial membrane polarization (MMP) of platelets were also measured. In vitro study, the RRE showed potent anti-inflammatory activity. Administration of RRE (at 100 mg/kg doses) to diabetic rats lowered blood glucose level insignificantly. The results showed that there was an increment in levels of TNF-alpha in plasma and pancreas tissue of the diabetic group compared to the control group. R. rubrum extract regulated and normalized their levels in plasma and pancreatic tissue. RRE at both doses significantly decreased platelet P-selectin levels and prevented STZ-induced loss of MMP in platelets. The results of current research indicate that RRE extract has potent anti-platelet and anti-inflammatory effects and may be beneficial in preventing diabetic complications. Practical applications Hyperglycemia causes dyslipidemia, advanced oxidative stress, platelet activation, and inflammation in diabetes mellitus. Plants with various medicinal properties are of worldwide interest for the treatment of diseases due to their biological activities. In this study, the antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant effects of extracts of Ribes rubrum (%100 ethanol, 50% ethanol, water) were evaluated by in vitro and in vivo methods. The diabetes model was induced with streptozotocin (STZ). The rats were divided into control, diabetic control, R. rubrum-100 mg/kg, and R. rubrum-500 mg/kg doses groups. Blood glucose levels, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), platelet P-selectin levels, mitochondrial membrane polarization of platelets were examined. The present study has shown that R. rubrum has anti-inflammatory and antiplatelet activity. R. rubrum may be beneficial in the prevention and treatment of DM complications due to its anti-inflammatory and antithrombotic effects.Article Effects of an Adapted Dance Exercise Program on Trunk Control, Balance and Functional Mobility in Children and Adolescents with Cerebral Palsy: Randomized Controlled Study(Taylor & Francis inc, 2025) Yekdaneh, Asena; Arman, NilayAims: The study aimed to investigate whether an 8-week adapted dance exercise program (ADEP), delivered in addition to conventional physiotherapy, would improve trunk control, balance, functional mobility, and quality of life (QoL) in children and adolescents with cerebral palsy (CP) compared with conventional physiotherapy alone. Methods: Thirty participants with CP (Gross Motor Function Classification System Level I - II) were randomly assigned to the ADEP group (n = 15) or the control group (n = 15). Both groups received conventional physiotherapy, while the ADEP group additionally performed physiotherapist-choreographed dance exercises accompanied by music, twice a week for 8 weeks. Outcomes included the Trunk Control Measurement Scale (TCMS) for trunk control, the Pediatric Balance Scale (PBS) for balance, the Timed Up and Go (TUG) for functional mobility, and the Pediatric Outcomes Data Collection Instrument (PODCI) for QoL. Results: The ADEP group showed significantly greater improvements than the control group in TCMS-Total (Delta = 10.53 vs 3.50, p < .001), TCMS-selective motor control (Delta = 6.00 vs 1.42, p < .001), TCMS-dynamic sitting balance (Delta = 7.53 vs 2.28, p < .001), and PODCI-Global scores (Delta = 4.61 vs -1.71, p < .001). Both groups improved in PBS and TUG, but between-group differences were not significant. Effect sizes indicated large improvements in trunk control in favor of the ADEP group. Conclusions: An 8-week ADEP program, when combined with conventional physiotherapy, produced clinically meaningful gains in trunk control and QoL in children and adolescents with CP. To determine the possible effects, rats were divided into four groups as control, control + whey, methotrexate (20 mg/kg, i.p.) and methotrexate + whey. Whey protein concentrate (2 g/kg, oral gavage) was administered for 10 days. Cytokine levels were measured and protein electrophoresis was carried out in serum samples. Lipid peroxidation, nitric oxide and glutathione level, and superoxide dismutase and glutathione S transferase activities were determined in lung samples. Inhibition of SARS CoV-2-targeted lung furin activity and SARS CoV-2 spike protein-angiotensin converting enzyme binding with whey protein concentrate were also measured in each group. In conclusion, whey protein concentrate improved methotrexate-induced lung damage and inhibited lung furin activity targeting SARS-CoV-2 S1/S2 site cleavage and SARS CoV-2 spike protein-angiotensin converting enzyme binding. Whey proteins are potential protective candidates that inhibit SARS CoV-2-related interactions, even in methotrexate-induced lung injury. Practical applications Whey proteins have anticarcinogenic, antihypertensive, antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral, and immunomodulating properties due to the protein, bioactive peptide, and essential amino acid content. Methotrexate is a folate antagonist and inhibits cell proliferation and purine synthesis. The combined use of whey protein concentrate and methotrexate may be an alternative in the development of new strategies to the treatment approaches against COVID-19. In addition, according to the results of this study, it is thought that the protective effect of whey proteins in healthy conditions before encountering the SARS CoV-2 may be higher than those who have never used it.Article Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 3Effect of Home Care After Cardiac Surgery(Managed Care & Healthcare Communications Llc, 2023) Aksut, Rabia Saglam; Kilic, DilekOBJECTIVES: Home care that maintains continuity of health care services after cardiac surgery is considered a complementary component of clinical care. We estimated that effective home care given with a multidisciplinary approach would contribute to decreasing symptoms and readmissions to the hospital after cardiac surgery.STUDY DESIGN: This experimental study with a 6-week follow-up period and a 2-group repeated measures design with pretest, posttest, and interval tests was conducted in a public hospital in Turkey in 2016.METHODS: We identified the self-efficacy levels, symptoms, and readmissions to the hospital of 60 patients (30 in the experimental group and 30 in the control group) throughout the data collection process, and we estimated the effect of home care on self-efficacy, symptom management, and hospital readmissions by comparing the data of patients in the experimental and control groups. Each patient in the experimental group received 7 home visits along with 24/7 telephone counseling services throughout the first 6 weeks after discharge, and patients were provided physical care, training, and counseling services during these home visits with the collaboration of their physician.RESULTS: Home care resulted in better self-efficacy and fewer symptoms in the experimental group (P < .05), and it also reduced readmissions to the hospital in the experimental group (23.3%) compared with the control group (46.7%).CONCLUSIONS: This study's findings suggest that home care, with a focus on continuity of care, decreases symptoms and readmissions to the hospital and improves the self-efficacy of patients after cardiac surgery.Review Citation - WoS: 16Citation - Scopus: 38How Do Mobile Wallets Improve Sustainability in Payment Services? a Comprehensive Literature Review(Mdpi, 2022) Hopali, Egemen; Vayvay, Ozalp; Kalender, Zeynep Tugce; Turhan, Deniz; Aysuna, CeydaEasy access to the Internet, smartphones, and mobile-based banking change customer shopping intentions. As a crucial component of financial technology (Fintech), mobile wallets enable customers to shop via smartphones. Mobile wallets present a cashless transactional method, cost-efficient services, and traceable options that improve sustainability in payment services. Over the last decade, mobile wallet services have evolved and attracted considerable attention from customers and companies. Due to the need for a comprehensive mobile wallet literature survey, this article aims at filling this research gap by covering articles published between 2012 and 2022 over the Scopus, Web of Science, and Science Direct databases. A clear filtering policy was conducted to observe the related article topics. Thus, 128 articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were analyzed. Moreover, the articles were initially classified into three main groups, which was performed via scanning and categorizing all studies in the last ten years from different databases. In addition, the literature was systematically reviewed, providing a better understanding of mobile wallets and contributing to the literature by researching how this service can be improved for payment services with a focus on sustainability. The seropositivity rates of these agents vary among countries and geographic regions. This study aimed to analyze the prevalence rates and diagnostic methods used in studies investigating the seroprevalence of viral pathogens in the TORCH group among pregnant women in Turkey between 2005 and 2024. A systematic search was conducted using electronic databases between January 2005 and January 2024. A total of 60 studies meeting the inclusion criteria were included. Data quality control was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute guideline prevalence studies checklist. Heterogeneity was measured using the I-squared (I-2) statistic in the Comprehensive Meta Analysis (CMA) program. The average seropositivity rates for Rubella, CMV, HSV-2, HBV and HCV in Turkey were determined as 91.18%, 94.81%, 35.52%, 1.66% and 0.25%, respectively. When the diagnostic methods were examined, it was determined that ELISA and ECLIA methods were used most frequently. The seropositivity of the agents did not show statistically significant differences according to the year periods, geographical regions and age of the patients (p > 0.05). The highest prevalence rates of Rubella and HSV-2 in pregnant women were reported in the Mediterranean region, the highest prevalence rates of CMV and HCV in the Southeastern Anatolia region and the highest seroprevalence of Anti HBs in the Marmara region. The results of this study support the necessity of increasing public awareness in the control of fetal infection caused by TORCH viral agents, prenatal screening, vaccination for Rubella and HBV and compliance with hygiene conditions for agents such as CMV, HSV-2 and HCV. A comprehensive literature search was conducted across PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and Scopus databases up to August 2024. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and observational studies were included, comparing depatuxizumab mafodotin alone or with temozolomide in patients with and without EGFR amplification. Data extraction encompassed participant demographics, treatment regimens, and clinical outcomes. Of 102 screened publications, 10 RCTs and cohort studies involving 1431 patients met the inclusion criteria. The included studies examined depatuxizumab mafodotin as a standalone therapy and in combination with other agents, revealing OS ranging from 5 to 14 months and considerable variability in PFS. While depatuxizumab mafodotin shows the potential to improve survival outcomes, the heterogeneity in results highlights the need for further research. Future studies should refine patient selection criteria and explore alternative therapeutic combinations, such as depatuxizumab mafodotin with gemcitabine or cisplatin, to optimize treatment strategies.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1The Effects of Two Different Concurrent Training Programs on Specific Performance, Physiological and Biochemical Parameters in Soccer Players(SAGE Publications Inc., 2025) Arslan, B.; Pinar, S.; Ciloglu, F.The study examined the effects of two concurrent training models, one being an eight-week High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and the other, High-Intensity Functional Training (HIFT) both with additional strength training (S), on physiological parameters (blood lactate concentration and heart rate), athlete's performance (maximal strength, explosive power, aerobic endurance, 20 m sprint), and biochemical outputs. The study involved a total of 21 young males playing with amateur soccer licenses for at least 2 years divided into three groups. One group received S + HIIT training, second group received S + HIFT training and the control group continued their soccer-specific training. Both the experimental and the control groups underwent pre- and post-tests and while only the experimental groups underwent an eight-week training program. Pre- and post-tests of the all the participants included measurements of body composition, adaptation studies, trial measurements, biochemical blood, aerobic endurance measurements, sprint tests, and strength measurements. The Mixed Design ANOVA analysis was utilized to examine the performance, physiological, and biochemical data of the participants before and after the experiment. Concurrent training models were effective in increasing athletic performance (VO2max, CMJ, 1RM bench press and Yo-Yo test) and physiological outcomes during recovery (HR, blood lactate, Borg Scale) compared to the control group with traditional training. There was no significant difference between the biochemical changes in the S + HIIT, S + HIFT and control groups during the trial period. Parents of 150 children with special needs (age range, 4 to 6 years) such as autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, as well as undiagnosed and developmentally risky children, were included. The Demographic Information Form, Screen Time Usage Form, Parent-Child Relationship Scale, Participation and Environment Measure for Children and Youth, and Short Child Occupational Profile were used for the data collection. There was a significant relationship between the screen time of girls and their parent-child relationships, home participation, and occupational performance. Moreover, we detected a relationship between the screen time of children with autism spectrum disorder and positive parent-child relationships, home participation, and occupational performance. This study aimed to investigate the effects of collagen peptides and Saccharomyces boulardii on acetic acid (AA)-induced colitis. Thirty-six male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into the following four groups: normal control (NC), colitis control (CC), collagen peptide (CP; 0.6 g/kg/day), and S. boulardii (SB; 250 mg/day). Colitis was induced by an intrarectal administration of AA in all groups except NC, and treatments were administered daily for 7 days. The therapeutic effects were evaluated by assessing the disease activity index (DAI), colon mass index, macroscopic and microscopic tissue damage, histopathological changes, zonula occludens (ZO)-1 protein expression, and myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity. The results showed that CP and SB treatments substantially alleviated DAI scores (p < 0.05) and reduced the colon mass index. Colon macroscopic and microscopic damages improved compared to the CC group (p < 0.01). Histologically, both treatments reduced inflammatory cell infiltration, crypt damage, and ulceration, with CP showing a slightly more pronounced effect. Immunohistochemical analysis revealed significant restoration of ZO-1 protein expression in the treated groups, indicating improvement in intestinal barrier integrity (p < 0.01). Furthermore, MPO activity was reduced in both CP and SB groups, significantly in the SB group (p < 0.01). These findings are consistent with previous studies that highlight the anti-inflammatory and barrier-enhancing effects of collagen peptides and probiotics in UC models.Article Protective Effect of Artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.) Artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.) has been traditionally used for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and hepatoprotective properties. This study evaluates artichoke leaf and receptaculum extracts in cholestasis and HE in a rat model. Wistar rats were divided into 6 groups: sham-control, bile duct ligation (BDL), and BDL with low/high-dose leaf or receptaculum extracts. After BDL, physiological saline and extracts (250/500 mg/kg) were administered orally for 28 days. Cognitive activity was evaluated using Morris water maze and novel object recognition tests on day 28. Artichoke extract regulated liver enzymes and bilirubin at high-doses and significantly increased antioxidant enzyme activities reduced by BDL. Elevated 8-Hydroxyguanosine (8-OHdG) levels decreased in liver and brain tissues. Similarly, artichoke extracts reduced cytokine and hydroxyproline (HP) levels elevated by cholestasis. Following BDL, Na+/K+-ATPase levels in brain and liver tissues decreased, while artichoke extract reversed this. Artichoke, particularly high-dose receptaculum, improved impaired performance and increased time in the target quadrant after BDL. Both artichoke leaf and receptaculum extracts improved recognition. Artichoke treatments, especially high-dose receptaculum, reduced hepatic and neuronal damage and improved histological appearance. These findings highlight the therapeutic potential of artichoke extracts for liver fibrosis and related neurocognitive disorders.Article The Relationship Between Health Literacy and Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors of Women With Preeclampsia(Assoc Medica Brasileira, 2025) Kolcu, Merve; Akturk, Nur Bahar Kuru; Ozturk, Gizem; Akkus, MineOBJECTIVE: The aim of this studywas to explore the relationship between the levels of health literacy and healthy lifestyle behaviors in women with preeclampsia. This research was planned as a descriptive relational study. METHODS: The data were collected from 251 pregnant women with preeclampsia who were admitted to a training and research hospital between February and July 2024. The Patient Information Form, Health Literacy Scale, and Healthy Lifestyle Behaviours in Pregnancy Scale were used for data collection. RESULTS: The mean Health Literacy Scale total score of the women was 76.25 +/- 14.48, and the mean Healthy Lifestyle Behaviours in Pregnancy Scale total score was 110.17 +/- 17.57. A moderate positive correlation was found between the mean total scores of the scales (r=0.365, p<0.05). CONCLUSION: As health literacy levels increased amongwomen diagnosed with preeclampsia, the level of healthy lifestyle behaviors also increased. It would be beneficial to integrate the topic of health literacy into prenatal care and pregnancy preparation classes.Article Citation - WoS: 1Reliability of the Icd-11 Personality Disorder Severity Ratings and Diagnosis(Wiley, 2024) Aydin-Seyrek, Tugba; Gandur, Tarik; Turgut, Neslihan; Kunt, Duygu Aslan; Dereboy, FerhanThe present study aimed to investigate the interrater reliability of the dichotomous and dimensional personality disorder (PD) diagnoses based on the overall severity assessment on a rating form consisting of 18 anchored items encompassing diagnostic requirements of the International Classification of Diseases 11th Revision (ICD-11). We also aimed to examine the extent of consistency within the diagnostic requirements grouped under the domains of self- and interpersonal functioning, specific manifestations of personality dysfunction, and distress and impairment in psychosocial functioning. Our data involved a total of 184 inter-ratings of 46 consenting patients by the same set of four clinicians. The chance-corrected agreement levels were estimated at intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) = 0.89 for the overall severity composite, ICC = 0.83 for the dimensional PD diagnosis and Fleiss' kappa = 0.77 for the dichotomous PD diagnosis. Internal consistency analysis of the overall severity composite and the domain composites revealed Cronbach's alpha coefficients approaching or exceeding 0.90 level. Our findings suggest that the diagnostic requirements listed in the ICD-11 and related documents for the severity determination in PD compose an internally consistent set. With the guidance of a rating form comprised of anchored items covering this set, competency-level clinicians are likely to perform reliable evaluations of the severity of personality disturbance, and dimensional and dichotomous PD diagnoses. Here, we aimed at investigating the effects of Rosa damascena essential oil (RDEO) on learning and memory functions in a rat model of amnesia induced by scopolamine, as well as on changes in acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity, M-1 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAChR) expression, and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels in the extracted brain tissues. Methods: The control, amnesia (scopolamine, 1 mg/kg/i.p.) and treatment (RDEO, 100 mu L/kg/p.o. or galantamine, 1.5 mg/kg/i.p.) groups were subjected to Morris water maze and new object recognition tests. AChE activity was assayed by ELISA, and M-1 mAChR and BDNF concentration changes were determined by western blotting. Also, using computational tools, human M-1 mAChR was modeled in an active conformation, and the major components of RDEO were docked onto this receptor. Results: According to our behavioral tests, RDEO was able to mitigate the learning and memory impairments caused by scopolamine in vivo. Our in vitro assays showed that the observed positive effects correlated well with a decrease in AChE activity and an increase in M-1 mAChR and BDNF levels in amnestic rat brains. We also demonstrated in an in silico setting that the major components of RDEO, specifically -citronellol, geraniol, and nerol, could be accommodated favorably within the allosteric binding pocket of active-state human M-1 mAChR and anchored here chiefly by hydrogen-bonding and alkyl-pi interactions. This study included 47 adolescents aged 15-18 years and had a history of delinquency. Data were collected using the Addiction Profile Index Adolescent Form (API-A) and an information form. Results indicated that the adolescents' mean age is 16.11 +/- 1.05 years, 78.7% had committed crimes against property and 34.0% against the person, and 34.0% were also victims of crime. Mean API-A total scores indicated that their level of substance use was low. In addition, mean API-A total scores showed significant differences according to the adolescents' migration status, age, economic status, school attendance, mental disorder diagnosis, duration of mental disorder, and type of offense (p < 0.05). The sample consisted of 217 athletes (57.6% male) aged between 18 and 39 years old (Mage = 21.77, SD = 4.53). The cross-sectional data were analyzed using structural equation modelling with bootstrapping method. Regarding direct effects, autonomous motivation was negatively correlated with shame and hubristic pride and positively correlated with authentic pride. Flow was positively related to autonomous motivation and hubristic pride. Regarding indirect effects, flow was negatively predicted by shame and hubristic pride and positively predicted by authentic pride through autonomous motivation. These results highlight the importance of autonomous motivation in the relationship between self-conscious emotions and flow in athletes. In particular, shame and authentic pride predicted flow fully through autonomous motivation. In conclusion, autonomous motivation mediates the relationship between self-conscious emotions and flow in athletes. Objective To compare the effect of PNF, conventional physicaltherapy (CPT) on shoulder passive and active range of motion (ROM), function, muscle strength, pain, kinesiophobia, quality of life (QoL), and patient satisfaction in patients with PHF. Methods A total of 40 patients with PHF were randomly allocated into two groups of CPT and PNF. Both groups received treatment programs three times a week for 6 weeks. The primary measures were shoulder ROM, function, and muscle strength. The secondary measures were pain, kinesiophobia, QoL, and patient satisfaction. Results Forty patients analyzed at the end of the study. There were no statistically significant group-by-time interactions for function, pain, shoulder ROM (active and passive), or muscle strength (p > .05). However, there were statistically significant group-by-time interactions in role limitations due to physical health subscale of the 36-item Short Form Survey (SF-36) in CPT (p = .046, eta(2)(p) = 0.078). In addition, a significant difference was found in patient satisfaction at 3 weeks in CPT (p = .021) but no difference at 6 weeks between groups (p > .05). Conclusion The PNF techniques demonstrated similar outcomes to the CPT in reducing pain, improving function and shoulder ROM, and enhancing quality of life in patients with PHF in short time. According to our findings, PNF techniques are as effective as CPT and can be proposed as a potential adjunctive treatment for patients with PHF.
