GunizIn our continuing search for new anticancer agents, herein we report the synthesis of 2-(4-chloro-3-methylphenoxy)-N'-[(aryl)methylidene]acetohydrazides 3a-j and the evaluation of their anticancer activities on cell viability, morphological changes and caspase-3 activity in cancer cell lines including gastric cancer (MKN45), cervical cancer (HeLa) and breast cancer (MDA-MB-231) cells. 2-(4-chloro-3-methylphenoxy)-N'-[(4-phenylthiophen-2-yl)methylidene] acetohydrazide 3g presented the strongest growth inhibition against MKN45 gastric cancer cell lines with the IC50 value of 1.471 +/- 0.23 mu M. Moreover, compounds 3b and 3g showed high potency against the HeLa and MDA-MB-231 cell lines having IC50 in the range of 2.38-9.72 mu M. These compounds are more selective for the tested human cancer cells than for the mouse fibroblast cell line (NIH/3T3). GunizA series of novel 2-(substituted arylidene)-N-(5-(propylthio)-2,3-dihydro-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-yl)hydrazine-1-carboxamide derivatives 3a-i were synthesized via condensation of N-(5-(propylthio)-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-yl) hydrazinecarboxamide (2), with the corresponding ketone or aldehydes. The chemical structures of the compounds prepared were confirmed by analytical and spectral data. The compounds were screened for their a-glucosidase inhibitory activity and all of them showed better inhibition than acarbose, except 3h. In particular, compound 3a proved to be the most active compound among all synthetic derivatives having IC50 value 12.88 +/- 0.98 mu M. Also, molecular docking studies were carried out for the compounds to figure out the binding interactions. Compound 3a has exhibited the highest binding energy (Delta G = -9.4 kcal/mol) and the most hydrogen bond interactions with active sites. Syntheses were carried out in tetrahydrofuran as porogenic solvent using 4-vinyl pyridine, methacrylic acid, acrylamide, and 1-vinyl imidazole as monomers, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as crosslinker and 2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator. In polymerization processes, different ratios of the template:monomer:crosslinker (T:M:CrL) were used to obtain the most suitable polymer. Caffeic acid:4-vinylpiridine:ethylene glycol dimethacrylate's 1:4:16 mole ratio of MIP was determined as the most convenient polymer for CA recognition. In addition, nonimprinted polymers (NIPs) without templates were prepared. Dynamic and static adsorption tests were applied to determine the absorption features of the NIPs and CA-MIPs. Separation and purification studies of CA and CLA were performed with molecular imprinted solid phase extraction (MISPE) application. The frequent occurrence of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in societies has necessitated a more innovative and exploratory approach to the field of design. Many of the products and built environments encountered by individuals with MS in their daily lives fall short in terms of meeting safety and accessibility needs. It is essential to establish the correct design approach so that users with MS can meet their needs easily and safely without depending on others. In this research, the problems encountered by users with MS in their residences were evaluated within the framework of Universal Design principles, and design recommendations were stated using a sample case in Turkey. Throughout the study, accessibility challenges, mobility, fatigue and balance problems, vision and lighting conditions, climatization and noise sensitivity, and psychological issues were primarily considered. The residence of the sample user with MS was examined in detail, and an in-depth interview was conducted during the research. The difficulties and life routines of the user with MS were observed and identified. Home design solutions associated with Universal Design principles were represented so that the users with MS have safe and accessible housing regarding their physiological and psychological conditions. The highlighted proposals may contribute to architectural design to make modifications for comfortable and safe housing in related cases having similar symptoms with MS. Future research can benefit from these findings and proposals to provide innovative approaches, develop policies, and conduct interdisciplinary studies on related design issues. © 2022, Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya. All rights reserved.Article Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 4Exploring Effects of the Hep (homeostasis-Enrichment Approach as a Comprehensive Therapy Intervention for an Infant With Cerebral Palsy: a Case Report(Georg Thieme verlag Kg, 2022) Balikci, AymenCerebral palsy (CP) is a common non-progressive neurodevelopmental disorder which causes developmental disabilities in children. Varied interventions for CP exist to address medical and physical needs but with limited effectiveness evidence. Environmental enrichment (EE) is an animal model intervention for many neurodevelopmental disorders, including CP, with considerable positive effects. This case report defines the Homeostasis-Enrichment-Plasticity (HEP) approach, which is based upon principles of EE and ecological theories of development and describes its use to promote the developmental and functional skills of an infant with CP. Parent interviews and assessment data were completed before and after intervention. For the interested parameters data was gathered by developmental history, systematic observation of behaviors in the clinical setting and at home, Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Infant-Toddler Symptom Checklist, the Sensory Profle Infant/Toddler, Peabody Developmental Motor Scales-2, Gross Motor Function Measurement-88 (GMFM-88), the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS), and Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory (PEDI). The HEP approach intervention was implemented one time per week for 12 months. Following the HEP approach intervention, self-regulation and sensory processing scores improved. GMFM-88 total score improved from 45/264 to 123/264. The Peabody found all gross motor (54-110), fine motor (65-117), and total motor quotient (119-227) scores improved after intervention. Post-intervention observations showed obvious gross motor progress with movement from GMFCS Level IV to Level I. Performance on the Functional Skills Scales and Caregiver Assistance Scales of PEDI also demonstrated notable improvements. BAI scores revealed low anxiety scores for both the mother (13/63 points) and father (14/63) before intervention. These scores did not change after intervention. A definition and detailed description of the HEP approach intervention is presented here for the first time. The case report demonstrated preliminary evidence for the effectiveness of the HEP approach on self-regulation, sensory processing, motor development, functional skills, and caregiver assistance with an infant with CP. Additional studies are needed to validate the findings.Article Assessment of Artificial Lighting Conditions in Sunlight-Deprived Classrooms(Gazi Univ, Fac Engineering Architecture, 2025) Duyan, Fazila; Kaplan, ElifNumerous studies on classroom lighting emphasize a close and significant relationship between students' concentration, comprehension of course content, and the efficiency of activities such as drawing, writing, and practices, with the lighting conditions. In this context, it is particularly important to properly design both the physical and psychological effects of artificial lighting, especially in sunlight-deprived classrooms. This study examines the artificial lighting conditions of a classroom located in the basement of a university building, which has no visual connection to the outdoors. The classroom is utilized by students from the departments of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Industrial Design. The study investigates the effects of current artificial lighting on students, focusing on aspects such as visual perception satisfaction, light colour, illuminance level, glare, and the temporal light modulation effect. To assess students' perception of the existing lighting conditions, an online questionnaire was administered, and a total of 104 students (65 female, 39 male) who had previous experience with the classroom participated in the study. Technical measurements of the existing luminaires were conducted, and the classroom was digitally modelled using the DIALux Evo lighting software. The collected data were analysed using the SPSS statistical analysis program. The findings of the study indicate that students perceived the artificial lighting conditions as inadequate in terms of visual comfort. Moreover, based on technical measurements, simulations, and user evaluations, it was determined that the existing luminaires caused glare and temporal light modulation effects, negatively affecting the classroom environment.Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 2Validity, Reliability and Responsiveness of the Cognitive Exercise Therapy Approach-Biopsychosocial Questionnaire (bety-Bq) in Knee Osteoarthritis(Springer Heidelberg, 2025) Bulut, Zeynep Irem; Unal, Edibe; Oksuz, Sevim; Dogru, Atalay; Akyol, Ahmet; Yakut, YavuzPurposeThis study was planned to test whether the Cognitive Exercise Therapy Approach- Biopsychosocial Questionnaire (BETY-BQ) is an appropriate questionnaire in assessing the biopsychosocial status in KOA.MethodsFrequently used assessment tools, OA-specific scale The Western Ontario and McMaster Universities OA Index, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, and the Short Form-36 were utilized for the validity and responsiveness of BETY-BQ in individuals with KOA. The test-retest method, internal consistency analysis, and item analysis were used to test reliability. For the test-retest method, BETY-BQ was administered again to the same 30 individuals 1 week later. To assess the responsiveness of the BETY-BQ, individuals who underwent medical treatment were subjected to a second round of questionnaire administration after a 3-month interval.ResultsModerate to weak correlations between BETY-BQ and the other questionnaires ensued the divergent validity. According to the confirmatory factor analysis, all goodness-of-fit indices of BETY-BQ were acceptable (CMIN/df = 2.212; RMSEA = 0.080; SRMR = 0.08). Both Cronbach's alpha (0.900) and ICC value (0.941) showed that the BETY-BQ has excellent reliability in the KOA population. The Bland-Altman Plot showed high agreement as all differences between the first and second BETY-BQ were found between the 95% lower and upper limits. BETY-BQ demonstrated moderate responsiveness as the effect size and standardized mean response were 0.656 and 0.566, respectively.ConclusionA valid, reliable, responsive, multi-dimensional, and self-reported questionnaire for measuring biopsychosocial status in KOA was introduced to the use of healthcare professionals.Article Citation - WoS: 4Citation - Scopus: 6Comparison of in Vitro Antifungal Activity Methods Using Extract of Chitinase-Producing aeromonas Sp. Bhc02(Springer, 2023) Cadirci, Bilge Hilal; Yilmaz, GulesmeBiological control to prevent fungal plant diseases offers an alternative approach to facilitate sustainable agriculture. Since the chitin in fungal cell walls is a target for biocontrol agents, chitinases are one of the important antifungal molecules. In this study, the aim was to investigate a new chitinase isolated from a fluvial soil bacterium and to show the antifungal activity of the characterized chitinase by comparing the three common methods. The bacterium with the highest chitinase activity was identified as Aeromonas sp. by 16 S rRNA sequence analysis. Following the determination of the optimum enzyme production time, the enzyme was partially purified, and the physicochemical parameters of the enzyme were investigated. In the antifungal studies, direct Aeromonas sp. BHC02 cells or partially purified chitinase were used. As a result, in the first method in which the Aeromonas sp. BHC02 cells were spread on the surface of petri dishes, no zone formation was observed around the test fungi spotted on the surface. However, zone formation was observed in the methods in which the antifungal activity was investigated using the partially purified chitinase enzyme. For example, in the second method, the enzyme was spread on the surface of PDA, and zone formation was observed only around Penicillum species among the test fungi spotted on the surface. In the third method, in which the necessary time was given for the formation of mycelium of the test fungi, it was observed that the growth of Fusarium solani, Alternaria alternata and Botrytis cinerea was inhibited by the partially purified chitinase. This study concludes that the results of the antifungal activities depend on the method used and all fungal chitins cannot be degraded with one strain's chitinase. Depending on the variety of chitin, some fungi can be more resistant.Article Aqueous Parsley (Petroselinum crispum) Extract Ameliorated Methotrexate-Induced Brain and Small Intestine Damage in Rats(Ankara Univ, 2025) Saçan, Ozlem; Şener, Göksel; Yanardag, Refıye; Tunali-Akbay, Tugba; Sivas, Guzin Goksun; Karaoğlu, Sümeyye Yılmaz; Dursun, ErcanMethotrexate (MTX) is a widely used antiarthritic and chemotherapeutic agent known to cause damage to various tissues. This study investigated the potential protective effects of parsley extract against MTX-induced brain and intestinal tissue damage. Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into control, control + parsley, MTX, and MTX + parsley. MTX (20 mg/kg, i.p.) was administered to the MTX and MTX + parsley groups. The control + parsley, and MTX + parsley groups were administered 2 g/kg parsley extract by oral gavage for five consecutive days. After the fifth day, brain and small intestinal tissues were taken. Total protein, nitric oxide, lipid peroxidation, glutathione levels, tissue factor, superoxide dismutase, and glutathione S-transferase activities were determined in these tissues. The protein profiles of the tissues were evaluated using SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Parsley administration caused a decrease in lipid peroxidation levels in both tissues of the MTX group. On the other hand, glutathione level, glutathione-S-transferase, and superoxide dismutase activities were found to be increased. On the other hand, parsley decreased the nitric oxide level which was increased in the intestinal tissues of the MTX group. There was no significant change in brain nitric oxide level and tissue factor activity between groups. MTX and parsley administration altered protein expression, leading to the appearance or disappearance of specific bands in intestinal and brain tissues. In conclusion, parsley alleviated MTX-induced damage in brain and intestinal tissues by reducing lipid peroxidation and modulating antioxidant defenses.Article Citation - Scopus: 1Irrational Beliefs and Moral Behaviors: Are Irrational Performance Beliefs Predictor of Prosocial and Antisocial Behaviors in Athletes?(Springer, 2024) Urfa, Osman; Asci, F. HulyaThe aim of this study was to investigate the atemporal mediating role of secondary irrational beliefs in the relationship between primary irrational beliefs and prosocial-antisocial behaviors in athletes. Ninety-two males (Mage=19.83 +/- 2.80) and 32 females (Mage=19.28 +/- 1.44), a total of 124 athletes (Mage=19.69 +/- 2.52) voluntarily participated in this study. Irrational Performance Belief Inventory-2 and Prosocial and Antisocial Behavior Scale were administered, and regression analysis was performed by using bootstrapping via PROCESS macro v4.2. Analysis indicated a significant atemporal direct effect of awfulizing belief on prosocial behaviors toward teammates and opponents. The direct effect of low frustration tolerance belief on prosocial behaviors toward opponents was also significant. Demandingness, awfulizing, and depreciation beliefs had atemporal direct effects on antisocial behaviors toward teammates. There were significant atemporal indirect effects of demandingness belief on prosocial behaviors toward teammates through awfulizing, prosocial behaviors toward opponents through low frustration tolerance, and antisocial behaviors toward teammates through low frustration tolerance and depreciation. In conclusion, there is atemporal mediating role of secondary irrational performance beliefs in the relationship between primary irrational performance beliefs and prosocial-antisocial behaviors.Article Investigation of the Printability of Ethyl 2-[4 on Coated and Uncoated Papers](Wiley, 2025) Akgul, Ahmet; Kucukguzel, S. Guniz; Oktav, Mehmet; Rollas, SevimThere is a growing demand in the printing industry for pigment-based inks with excellent lightfastness and rub resistance qualities. In this work, a novel ink with the formulation ethyl 2-[4-(1,3,4-oxadiazole-2(3H)-thione-5-yl)phenylhydrazono]-3-oxobutyrate (OXKT) was prepared as a pigment and its printability was investigated for use in printing. The OXKT was synthesised, characterised then printed on uncoated and gloss-coated papers and Bristol cardboard. Physical tests and spectrophotometric measurements were carried out to determine the technical characteristics of the printed ink. Additionally, print quality, ink density and gloss were evaluated. The results showed that the proposed ink with the OXKT compound had acceptable rub resistance. Also, the gloss and light fastness values exceeded the acceptable rates for the printing industry because of their colour differences. However, more research needs to be conducted to improve light performance. Nevertheless, it is still possible for use in applications that do not stipulate strict light fastness values.Article Citation - WoS: 1Organizational Change and Applicability of Six Sigma Management Model in the Turkish National Soccer Team(Gdansk Univ Physical Education & Sport, 2018) Cobanoglu, Halil Orbay; Terekli, Mustafa Serdar; Gursakal, Necmi; Sever, Necip SerdarBackground: In recent years, the Six Sigma Methodology has been primarily applied to the enhancement of performance. The purpose of this study was to implement Six Sigma Management Models in the Turkish National Soccer Team. Material and methods: 24 matches of the Turkish National Soccer Team constituted the sample of research. The DMAIC method was used in this study. For statistical analysis of research data, IBM SPSS 18.0 for Windows and Minitab 17 statistical software program were used. As statistical techniques, brainstorm, fishbone, chi-square correlation analysis, Spearman correlation test, process capability analysis and control charts were used, which were the six sigma tools. The numerical values obtained were tested at P < 0.01 and P < 0.05 significance levels. Result: As a result of the research, a statistically significant correlation was found among the match outcomes of the Turkish National Soccer Team and the game formation (P = 0.04), the positive shoot rate (P = 0.03), the positive defence rate on the first zone (P = 0.00) and the positive defence rate on the second zone (P = 0.00). As a result of the improvement, the z bench value for the positive defence rate on the first zone was increased from 0.47 to 0.59. Conclusion: It can be said that the Six Sigma Management Model is applicable for coaching or training in soccer.Article Citation - Scopus: 23The Synergistic Effects of Betanin and Radiotherapy in a Prostate Cancer Cell Line: an in Vitro Study(Springer Science and Business Media B.V., 2023) Montazersaheb, S.; jafari, S.; Aytemir, M.D.; Ahmadian, E.; Ardalan, M.; Zor, M.; Aghdasi, S.Background: Prostate cancer is among the most common cancers in men with an increasing incidence rate. Radiation therapy (RT) is a therapeutic strategy for the management of prostate cancer after surgery; nonetheless, it has different side effects on neighboring healthy cells/tissues. Moreover, radioresistance has been an increasing phenomenon in the recent years. Therefore, there is an urgent need for the introduction of a safe and effective radiosensitizing agent. Accordingly, the recent trend in the development of novel drugs is accompanied by a push toward natural compounds. Our study evaluated the effects of betanin combined with RT as a potential radiosensitizing agent in the PC-3 cell line. Methods and results: MTT assay was utilized to determine the growth inhibitory impact of betanin. The possible synergistic effect was evaluated with CompuSyn software upon Trypan blue exclusion test. Apoptosis-related gene expression was evaluated via Real-time PCR and the protein expression of P21 was determined using western blotting. A synergistic anticancer effect with an optimal combination index of 0.61 was achieved by treating PC-3 cells with betanin and RT. The results pointed out that betanin synergistically triggered RT-mediated apoptosis and cell cycle arrest through modulating gene and protein expression in comparison with each of the monotherapies. In this context, the most active role of consumers is to prefer quality products that can last for many years and to extend the time of the products remaining in use, especially through the purchase and sale of second-hand clothes. While current papers provide roadmaps based on conceptual details, and consumer perception and attitude, there is no comprehensive study in second-hand shopping practices specific to clothing. Hence, the aim of this study is proposing an integrated methodology to understand the criteria that consumers pay attention in second-hand clothes shopping platforms as a tool that makes sustainable fashion possible via literature review, individual interviews and text mining, to determine the weights of these criteria according to their importance via Step-Wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) methodology, and to compare the prominent platform alternatives via Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) technique. However, risk in service supply chains (SSCs) is largely neglected. Since SSCs are not immune to disruptions, there is a need to study and understand supply chain risks from a service perspective. This paper sets out to identify, define and examine risks in SSCs. Using a systematic literature review, the paper explicitly defines seven risk types associated with SSCs: financial, relationship, demand, operational, service delivery, Information technology (IT), and external risks. To gain a deeper understanding of these risks and their consequences, a structural model of the relationships among them was developed using ISM and MICMAC. This study helps us to identify and understand all the risks that need to be assessed in SSCs, which in turn would lead to enhanced risk management and business sustainability. © 2021 University of Cincinnati. Methods: A total of 124 individuals (49% women) with a mean age of 71.8 +/- 5.8 years were included in the study. Participants were divided into two groups, older individuals with LCS in the LCS group and older individuals who were not diagnosed with COVID-19 in the CON (control) group. Physical performance of participants was evaluated with the Alusti Test, balance and gait assessment was evaluated with the Tinetti Balance and Gait Assessment (TBGA), and ADL were evaluated with the Barthel Index (BI). Results: In the evaluations between groups, the mean score of active muscular mobility of right and left upper extremities, transfer supine position to sitting, trunk in sitting position and standing, which are among the subparameters of the Alusti Test, were statistically significantly lower in LCS compared to CON (p < .05). TBGA total score and gait section mean score of TBGA were statistically significantly lower in LCS than in CON (p < .05). There was no significant difference between the groups in the balance section of the TBGA and the mean BI scores (p > .05). Conclusions: It was concluded that physical performance parameters related to active muscular mobility of the upper extremity, transfer supine position to sitting, trunk in sitting position and walking in LCS were negatively affected by the disease, but this did not affect the level of balance and independence in ADL.Article Psychometric Properties and Transcultural Adaptation of Turkish Version of the Basel Assessment of Adherence to Immunosuppressive Medication Scale(Baskent Univ, 2025) Koken, Zeliha Ozdemir; Ordin, Yaprak Sarigol; Seren, Arzu Kader HarmanciObjectives: This study aimed to translate BAASIS (Basel Assessment of Adherence to Immunosuppressive Medication Scale) into Turkish and to test the psychometric properties of the translated Turkish version of the instrument. Materials and Methods: In this single-center crosssectional study, we included 100 kidney transplant recipients in a university hospital in a western city of Turkiye. The Translation and Cultural Adaptation Report from Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research was used for the transcultural adaptation of BAASIS to Turkish. We tested the validity of the BAASIS Turkish version by the level of evidence according to the American Educational Research Association guidelines: content validity, internal structure, and relations to other variables. We calculated item-total correlations of the BAASIS Turkish version to examine internal consistency reliability. Results: The content validity index score of BAASIS was calculated as 1.00, indicating agreement between the experts. Exploratory factor analysis evaluated the internal structure of BAASIS, and the coefficients for inter-item correlations ranged from 0.170 to 0.395. The Immunosuppressive Treatment Adherence Scale and the BAASIS nonadherent scores were significantly correlated (r = 0.673, P < .001). The coefficients for item-total correlation analyses ranged from 0.160 to 0.470. Conclusions: The BAASIS Turkish version has acceptable psychometric properties. DESIGN: The English version of CAIT was translated to CAIT-T based on a guideline of cross-cultural adaptation. Fifty-two athletes with chronic ankle instability and 63 athletes without chronic ankle instability were included in the study. Construct validity was evaluated with correlations between the CAIT-T, Turkish version of Foot Ankle Ability Measure (FAAM-T), and Numeric Rating Scale. CAIT-T was completed twice by each participant at 7 to 10 days intervals to assess test-retest reliability based on the intraclass correlation coefficient, whereas Cronbach alpha evaluated internal consistency. Discriminative validity and content validity of the CAIT-T also evaluated. RESULTS: In construct validity, strong positive correlation was found between CAIT-T and Numeric Rating Scale perceived ankle instability (rho = -.771, P < .001), as well as moderate negative correlations with FAAM-T-activities of daily living and FAAM-T-sports (rho = -.448, P < .001 and rho = -0.541, P < .001, respectively). The CAIT-T demonstrated strong test-retest reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient score of .98) with a good internal consistency (Cronbach α: .85). Receiver operating characteristic curve showed a cutoff score of 26.5 (Youden index: 0.78, sensitivity: 0.57, specificity: 0.90.5). No ceiling or floor effects were observed. CONCLUSIONS: CAIT-T is a valid and reliable questionnaire for the assessment of chronic ankle instability in the Turkish athletic population. Methods: Thirty volunteers aged 20 to 40 years old with NNP over 3 months duration were included. Participants were randomly divided into the following 2 groups: (1) MSM group (n = 15) and (2) ISM group (n = 15). Ipsilateral (intervention side) and contralateral (opposite side of intervention) VAs and ICAs were evaluated using spectral color Doppler ultrasound before and immediately after manipulation. Measurements were recorded by visualizing the ICA carotid sinus (C4 level) and the VA at the V3 segment (C1-C2 level). The blood flow parameters of peak systolic velocity (PSV), end-diastolic velocity, resistive index, and volume flow (only for VA) were evaluated. The spinal segment, in which biomechanical aberrant movement was detected by palpation in the upper cervical spine, was manually manipulated in the MSM group. The same methodology was performed for the ISM group using an Activator V instrument (Activator Methods). Results: Intragroup analysis exhibited no statistically significant difference between the MSM and ISM groups in terms of PSV, end-diastolic velocity, resistive index of ipsilateral and contralateral ICA and VA, in addition to volume flow of both VAs preintervention and postintervention (P > .05). Within the intergroup analysis, there was a significant difference in ipsilateral ICA PSV (P = .031) (preintervention vs postintervention difference was -7.9 & PLUSMN; 17.2 cm/s [95% confidence interval, -17.4 to 1.6] in the ISM group and 8.7 & PLUSMN; 22.5 cm/s [95% confidence interval, -3.6 to 21.2]) in the MSM group (P < .05). Other parameters did not show any significant difference (P > .05). Conclusion: Manual and instrumental spinal manipulations applied to the upper cervical spine in participants with chronic NNP did not appear to alter blood flow parameters of the VAs and ICAs.Article Evaluation of Renal Functions of Inpatients With Mental Disorders(Slack inc, 2024) Dikec, Mehmet; Dikec, Gul; Ata, Elvan Emine; Ozer, DuyguThe current study aimed to investigate the renal functions of inpatients with mental disorders. Data for this retrospective and descriptive study were collected from January 2021 to April 2021 from the records of patients who were hospitalized in the psychiatry clinic of a training and research hospital between 2018 and 2020. The study sample comprised hospital records of 376 patients. A significant negative relationship was determined between patients'glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and glucose level, duration of mental disorder, number of hospitalizations, and duration of medication use (p < 0.05). According to the analysis of patients' renal functions, mean GFR was statistically significantly lower in women with physical chronic diseases and diagnosed with personality disorders. Psychiatric-mental health nurses should evaluate and monitor renal functions of individuals with mental disorders and take precautions before kidney diseases develop.
