Article Citation Count: 13A Novel Neutrosophic Set Based Hierarchical Challenge Analysis Approach for Servicizing Business Models: A Case Study of Car Share Service Network(Pergamon-elsevier Science Ltd, 2022) Usta, Saliha Karadayı; Endüstri Mühendisliği BölümüServicization as a part of circular economy has a prominent role in operations management research by emphasizing the functionality of the products. Servicizing business model is a phenomenon that the products are converted into services for sale, or process of transforming the consumers into users. This newly introduced way of business is defined as a new opportunity for operations management by focusing on; the reliability and durability of the products against the extreme repeatedly use, coordination problems in conducting the business, risk of encountering unknown negative customers, and moral hazard in product usage, operational difficulties, and the degradation of the products. All of the aforementioned issues in implementing the servicizing business models constitute a research question with the high impact of COVID-19 pandemics. Since people avoid using public transportation, car share programs are highly in demand. In addition, there is an obvious research gap in challenge analysis of the car-sharing programs' literature, an overall service network challenge analysis is missing in the field of study. Hence, the purpose of this study is proposing a novel neutrosophic set based hierarchical challenge analysis approach for the servicizing business models with a step by step guidance, and presenting a real world case study addressing a car sharing company's entire service network. A practitioner can understand which challenge should be dealt with first, what is the inter-relationship structure of these challenges in a hierarchy, and what is the expected final result of these interactions. The study also contributes to the theoretical background by using neutrosophic sets to propose a novel interpretive hierarchical challenge analysis. In this research, the evaluation of truth and indeterminacy membership degrees of a neutrosophic set are gathered separately instead of applying the defined linguistic variable schemes. The case study is a contemporary field of study attracting attention of innovative entrepreneurs, since there is an increased demand of individual car driving due to the isolation requirement arisen from COVID-19 pandemics.Article Citation Count: 5An Integrated Methodology Proposal for Sustainable Fashion: Understanding and Examining Criteria Affecting the Second-Hand Clothes Shopping(Gazi Univ, Fac Engineering Architecture, 2022) Usta, Saliha Karadayı; Kadaifci, Cigdem; Endüstri Mühendisliği BölümüSustainable fashion is an important movement that offers numerous benefits in the long run by questioning the actual needs of the consumer, selecting the natural fabrics, preferring the brands providing ethical working conditions for the employees, using the acquired clothes as long as possible, repairing when necessary, and recycling into yarn when the lifetime is over, or transforming into a new product by changing the function of the items. In this context, the most active role of consumers is to prefer quality products that can last for many years and to extend the time of the products remaining in use, especially through the purchase and sale of second-hand clothes. While current papers provide roadmaps based on conceptual details, and consumer perception and attitude, there is no comprehensive study in second-hand shopping practices specific to clothing. Hence, the aim of this study is proposing an integrated methodology to understand the criteria that consumers pay attention in second-hand clothes shopping platforms as a tool that makes sustainable fashion possible via literature review, individual interviews and text mining, to determine the weights of these criteria according to their importance via Step-Wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) methodology, and to compare the prominent platform alternatives via Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) technique. The criteria weights vary depending on the sustainability awareness of consumers, and on the generation gap.Article Citation Count: 8Defining and Modeling Risks in Service Supply Chains(Univ Cincinnati industrial Engineering, 2021) Karadayi-Usta, Saliha; Usta, Saliha Karadayı; SerdarAsan, Seyda; Endüstri Mühendisliği BölümüRisk management in supply chains is of growing importance and has been studied extensively in manufacturing supply chains However, risk in service supply chains (SSCs) is largely neglected. Since SSCs are not immune to disruptions, there is a need to study and understand supply chain risks from a service perspective. This paper sets out to identify, define and examine risks in SSCs. Using a systematic literature review, the paper explicitly defines seven risk types associated with SSCs: financial, relationship, demand, operational, service delivery, Information technology (IT), and external risks. To gain a deeper understanding of these risks and their consequences, a structural model of the relationships among them was developed using ISM and MICMAC. This study helps us to identify and understand all the risks that need to be assessed in SSCs, which in turn would lead to enhanced risk management and business sustainability.
