Article Measuring Narcissism in Cyberspace: Psychometric Evaluation of the Turkish Online Narcissism Personality Inventory (ONPI)(Istanbul Univ, Methodology & Sociology Research Center, 2025) Aytac, Sevinc Serpil; Bilir, Kadriye Burcu Ongen; Aydin, Gulden Cetin; Yuzaki, EnginThe widespread use of digital technologies and the increasing prevalence of internet usage in a globalized world have significantly influenced individuals' personality traits. In particular, the restriction of face-to-face interactions during global pandemics has led individuals to maintain their lives in digital environments. These developments have made it increasingly important to investigate the relationship between internet use and personality characteristics. This study aims to adapt the Online Narcissistic Personality Inventory (ONPI), developed by Chou and Farn (2015) based on the 40-item Narcissistic Personality Inventory by Raskin and Terry (1988), into Turkish and to examine its psychometric properties. The study sample consists of 397 individuals from diverse age groups and socio-demographic backgrounds. Data was analyzed using SPSS 30 and AMOS 30 software. According to the results of the exploratory factor analysis, the item factor loadings ranged from 0.466 to 0.812, and the total variance explained by the scale was found to be 58.36%. Confirmatory factor analysis results (Chi-square/df:2.584; RMSEA:0.063; NFI: 0.84; IFI: 0.90; TLI: 0.87; CFI: 0.90; GFI: 0.90) indicated that the scale exhibits a five-factor structure with 27 items. The internal consistency of the scale was high, with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.93. Additionally, the item total correlations ranged between 0.326 and 0.700. The findings demonstrate that the Turkish adaptation of the Online Narcissistic Personality Inventory is a valid and reliable measurement tool.Article Citation - WoS: 4The Prevalence of Violence Against Healthcare Workers in Turkey and Employee Job Satisfaction(Lahore Medical & dental Coll, 2021) Dursun, Salih; Aytac, Sevinc SerpilAim: To reveal the different dimensions of workplace violence that healthcare workers are exposed to, and to evaluate the impact of exposure to violence on the job satisfaction of healthcare workers. Methods: The study sample comprises 169 people working in different positions in the hospital (doctor, nurse, secretary, assistant staff, etc.). The Workplace Violence Questionnaire and Job Satisfaction Scale were used to collect the study data. The questionnaire forms were distributed in closed envelopes according to the random sampling method, and were filled out by the volunteer participants themselves. Descriptive statistics and t-test were used to analyze the study data. Results: The results of the study show that more than half of the hospital staff (57.5%) had been exposed to violence in the last year; 54.8% of participants were exposed to verbal violence, 26% were exposed to physical violence, and 5.4% were exposed to sexual harassment. In addition, it was found that the job satisfaction levels of those individuals who were exposed to violence (16.71) were lower than the job satisfaction level of those who were not exposed to violence (18.59) (t = -2.793, p-value = 0.006). Conclusion: The study results show that healthcare workers are at serious risk of violence in the workplace. In addition, it is observed that exposure to violence negatively affects job satisfaction, which is important in regarding workplace attitude.Article Perception of Quality of Work Life in Employees in the Covid-19 Pandemic(Lahore Medical & dental Coll, 2022) Aytac, Sevinc Serpil; Kaya, OzlemAim: In this study, it was aimed to investigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the quality of working life. Methods: Within the scope of the study, questionnaire was applied to 510 people working in the public and private sectors in Turkey. The survey form consists of sections on employee's demographic information, and quality of working life scale. The research was conducted through an online survey between April 2020 and July 2020 and delivered to a wide audience through the researchers' social networks. This data, collected by convenience sampling method. Descriptive statistics and t-test were used to analyze the study data. Results: It was found that there was a statistically significant difference between the participants' way of working at home or remotely during the pandemic period (t = 3.625, p-value = 0.000) and their gender and the mean total score of QWL (t =-3.005, p-value = 0.003). Conclusion: The study results show that the COVID 19 pandemic has negative effects on the quality of working life. In addition, both public and private sector employees have experienced serious changes in their working life in this process, and in this case, it is seen that their working life quality is adversely affected.Article Citation - WoS: 1Workplace Violence Against Police Officers and the Effect of Workplace Violence on Mental Health(Lahore Medical Research Center Llp, 2021) Dursun, Salih; Aytac, Sevinc SerpilAim: The aim of the research is to reveal the prevalence of violence against police officers and to examine the effect of being subjected to violence on their mental health. Methods: The sample of the research consists of 339 police officers working in different duty areas. Questionnaire technique was used to collect data in the study. The questionnaire form consists of two parts. In the first part of the questionnaire, there are questions to determine the demographic characteristics of the participants (age, gender, marital status, education level, working year, etc.). In the second part of the questionnaire, there are questions to measure workplace violence and the Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale. SPSS 23.0 package program was used in the analysis of the research data. Frequency distribution, descriptive statistics and t-test were used in the analysis of the data. Results: In the current study, it has been determined that 39.2% of police officers have been exposed to at least one type of workplace violence in the last 1 year. It was observed that the most common type of violence was verbal violence (28.9%). The results show that exposure to workplace violence negatively affects the stress and depression levels of police officers. Conclusion: Research results show that workplace violence is an important risk factor for police officers. Being exposed to violence also negatively affects the mental health of police officers. These results show the importance of implementing policies to prevent violence against police officers.Conference Object Psycho-Social Impact of the Disaster on Employees in Terms of Occupational Health and Safety: The Case of Turkey(Springer-Verlag Singapore Pte Ltd, 2025) Aytac, Sevinc Serpil; Akalp, Husre Gizem; Bilir, Burcu Ongen; Mamaci, MerveThe earthquakes that occurred in Maras, Turkey, on February 6, 2023, with intensities of 7.7 MW and 7.6 MW, deeply affected the lives of millions of people in economic, social and psychological terms within a few seconds and caused loss of life. The aim of this study is to examine the moderator role of disaster preparedness plans in workplaces on the relationship between post-traumatic stress levels and depression, anxiety, stress levels of people who are directly or indirectly exposed to these earthquakes and have an active work life. The data was obtained from a total of 206 blue-collar employees who were actively working in a private company and were directly and indirectly exposed to the effects of the earthquake. In data collection, demographic information form, The Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R) and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) were used. According to the findings analyzed using structural equation modeling showed that having a disaster preparedness plan in workplaces weakens the strength of the relationship between post-traumatic stress level and depression, anxiety, stress levels.
